Is it me or is this way to convoluted at the moment? What I'd love to see is a dedicated 'CoronaSubstancePainter' material which somehow results in rendering the same thing that I'm seeing in substance painter.

This is the problem I'm talking about:   https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=11377.0

Ideally getting something from substance painter to render correctly in Corona should only take a few clicks..  not doing a master thesis on all the particularities of different shader models and what not :)

Technically maybe not but for all intents and purposes they still load their external content and you can instance them as well keeping a low memory footprint.

But I'm using them mostly to read alembic meshes generated in Houdini into max, for that it works just fine.

Indian it is! :)    But seriously, I guess you already know but Chaos Group as a very decent viewport preview of volumetrics using the vrayvolumegrid object.  It would save a lot of work and generate compatibility if Corona would be able to just pick up those vrayvolumegrid objects and render them.

(Funny enough I was already using vrayproxy objects in Corona which work fine when you put an 'convertToPoly' modifier on them)

Not sure, I tweaked a lot of things and I found a few mistakes in my own managing scripts when updating the farm to max 2018 so if no one else is having these issues it was probably some error of my own.

Weird.. I've activated Max's demo mode on a farm slave, then Corona 1.7 works fine.   It's just failing when using Deadline..  Coronarenderer.classid  matches with what is in the deadline job as well.

Sorry,  got a farm on EC2 which is not working.  Basically got the same config locally in the office with a few old machines which does work.

Got to run now, I'll give some more detail later.  I can even give someone remote access to the machine if required.

Thx, but Local deadline9 jobs on the office farm work fine with 1.7 so I doubt that's it.

1.6 worked fine on the farm. Looks like max isn't loading anything from Corona?

Official 1.7 Corona release, up to date windows x64 server 2016 datacenter (EC2).

I did cancel the first install attempt of Corona because it was downloading the mat lib, then uninstalled the remains using add/remove programs and reinstalled it again (a few times now)

So any clues?

The CameraMod in 'cube tile' mode make a vertical stack of tiles, GearVR  wants them horizontal and flipped for some reason.  And for it to show up it needs a small json file with a tiny bit of meta data.

Would be great if you guys can have a look at that so at least the image comes out compatible!

Just wanted to say that it's awesome to see VDB support on the roapmap!

We've been working on a tool to make Max and Houdini work together including volumetrics, check it here around the 7:20 time to see it in action with a vrayvolumegrid:

Looking forward to adding Corona support to SideKick!

Haven't installed the new version yet, hard at work to meet a few deadlines..

But I did saw the the 1.6 video and it showed a feature where zooming in to the VFB all of the CPU powered got focused on just the visible area..

I usually zoom in during a render to check on noise levels and how details are emerging to get a feel for the amount of required passes and such. And right now I'm doing hires stereo renders (10k+) and I set the vfb to a 1:1 zoom to get a feel for the noise without zoom.  The new 'only focus on visible part of VFB' feature is a bit dangerous I think, is there a toggle to turn this on/off or is it only doing that during interactive mode?
