Hello guys,

Something I'd need to investigate a bit more, but do you guys face a big performance dropdown when using IPR with a scene where you use Material Override with some objects excluded ? I'm still not sure about that, I'll try with other scenes, just wondering ;)

Hello,

Not sure if it's a bug or to be expected, but here we go. I've noticed that phases before GI passes (parsing scene, preparing geometry, Computing Sec GI) are pretty slow, then I checked CPU usage ... please check this video capture: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cFVqo7oq5v. I've hidden the VFB on purpose, because of NDA. The scene is illuminated only by an HDRI in environment.

Hardware: bi-Xeon CPU E5-2630 v4 @2.2GHz / 64Go RAM
Software: 3dsmax 2018.4, Corona V1.7.2 / Windows 7 Professionnal x64

Hello,

We have a neighbor (trend agency) that needs images for a customer, which produces materials used in kitchens and bathrooms, a kind of reconstituted stone. We do not take this kind of "pure CG" projects, except for our existing customers for whom we also do other things (design, mastery of work ...). So I'm looking for contacts to transmit, but they really need high quality (photorealism, really), budgets are ok. For those you are interested in, please contact me as soon as possible in PM, with portfolio (required).
I stated in the title "France only", because the client will ask to meet the freelancer, exchange "live" with him/her whenever possible, not only confcalls ;)

Hello,

Really a detail, but I'd rather submit it: since Noise Level is a percentage, I guess that would make sense to limit its maximum value at 100, no ?
Also, maybe add a % after the caption, like Noise level limit (%), to be clear on the value. I mean, one can write 5% or 0.05 ;)

Devil is in the details like we say ...

Not really a Corona feature, but still: could you guys please make 3dsmax to display a warning message, when we submit jobs to BackBurner, and region rendering is still active in Corona VFB ? it's the case with regular 3dsmax crop / region, it would be great to have this when we use region rendering in Corona to check things here and there, before sending jobs for the night ;)

Hello,

I'm wondering if it would be possible to expose some Corona settings to BackBurner, so that they could be tweaked directly from the BB Monitor ? for example, being able to restart a job, changing time limit / noise level / number of passes would be very useful ... but I bet the limitation comes from BB and not from the renderer, but I'd still rather ask ... and please, don't suggest to use Deadline, for the moment, we just can't unfortunately :(

Would someone, skilled with mxs and pretty available, develop a managing tool for Corona cameras ? we regularly use VRay Camera Manager (http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/vray-camera-manager), and it's very useful. Since Corona now has its own cameras, maybe that would make sense ... what do you guys think ?

Since we use PSDManager to gather elements for our renderings, we'd like to avoid the global REs output that generates a bunch of useless files for us. Is there a way to prevent REs output in separated files ? we just want them to be generated in the VFB, written in the PSD file generated by PSDManager, but nothing more ... any idea, please ?

Hello :)

A little question about smoothing network deployment, when a new release / hotfix is out, or even for daily builds quick testing.
Our network setup relies on the [Include] trick in Plugin.ini, so that every machine (workstations, rendernodes) loads a set of plugins in one common folder on the server. Since Corona installer allows to uncompress components in a folder, instead of installing them directly in the host application, I was wondering which ones could be simply copied in our shared folder to get every machines updated with the same Corona version ?
I think we can forget scripts (mostly for workstation I guess), but Corona20XX.dlr and CoronaUtils20XX.dlt apart, are there any other files that changes from build to build ? DrServer.exe for example ?

Hello :)

A standard 3dsmax behavior makes it possible to drap & drop a bitmap directly from the Windows Explorer into a 3dsmax map slot, thus creating automatically a Bitmap map. When using Corona materials, it doesn't work: we need to create manually a Corona Bitmap, then add / drag & drop a bitmap into the map path.
Would it be possible to override this, to get be able to use drag & drop with automatic Corona Bitmap creation ?

Hello,

While the currently available options are interesting, we'd need more to cover a maximum of needs. Would it please be possible to separate LightMix layers by for example:
- scene layers (when we have to split various lights sets on several layers, these lights aren't necessarily instanced)
- name selection sets (can be useful in some cases)
