Hello Corona Renderer Team,

Recently, I noticed strange behaviour of Intel CPU/ GPU AI denoiser. The level of denoising is dropping randomly, even when rendering the same scene twice in a row without any scene actions.

Here is a 20 minutes preview, all Corona settings are intact for both images. Image A has a desired denoise effect, image B is the exactly same settings but visibly lower quality. This randomly happens only with version 11, without and with hotfix installed. When I render image B again few minutes later without any scene changes, I get the same result as A.

FYI, Corona High Quality Denoiser works perfectly but at a time costs.

I'm biting my tongue hardly to keep it on topic. I'm trying to keep all costs at reasonable level, so I'm considering purchasing Solo Yearly license. It's €322.80 (plus 20% VAT), but it's still huge saving comparing to Solo monthly for €66*12 = €792!!!

The worst thing is that I don't have a feeling that I'm getting better software for bigger price. Support is terrible, Corona seems to be buggier than before so the only thing that's keeping me using Corona Renderer is the amount of work to be finished this year…

I have an issue with displaying textures in shaded viewports in both Corona 10 and 11. When I add Corona Layered Material to poly object, the texture is not displayed and is only blank, ignoring activated Show Shaded Material in Viewport.

Can you confirm?

To your notes:
1/ This slowdown is happening with every scene previously saved and rendered with Corona 9 engine.
2/ iTools plugin: No
3/ Scenes and assets loading: Local SSD drive
4/ Textures: less than 100 textures, below 4K resolution
5/ Lowering texture resolution did not help.

Hi all, thanks for reporting this. Currently, we are not aware of any similar reports, and we haven't noticed such slowdowns in our internal scenes. If possible, please send us any problematic scenes over at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
It would be great if you could attach a scene saved with Corona 9 so that we could compare the V9 and V10 times.

I have some additional questions/considerations:
- Are you using iToo plugins in your scenes? (we had some similar reports in the past which were related to iToo)
- Are you loading your scenes and all assets from local drivers or from network drives/gdrive/dropbox?
- Are there many hi-res textures in your scenes? (for example 100 x 8k textures)
- Does lowering all textures resolutions under Viewports Configuration to a super low value like 128px make any difference?

Hello,

When opening scenes with Corona Renderer 10 Hotfix 1 in 3ds max 2023/2024, the scene is loading extremely slow with the message "Loading Corona assets". It takes several minutes to load relatively simple scene with few Corona materials. And it basically freezes 3ds max window.

This did not happen with version 9.

Anybody having the same issue?

Update: the same issue is with Corona 11 HotFix 1 under 3ds max 2024.2

So, I have to pay double for monthly subscription. I cannot afford to pay 400 Eur next month for one year. Of course, I can save 32 Eur every month so next year I will have enough money for another year license. But now, Chaos just put me in very bad situation. As a freelancer, I have to save every Euro, I'm not in position of just spending 380 Euro over regular costs and fees.

And, as other users, I'm not interested in other Chaos stuff, including Cosmos, which I used ZERO times since it was included in Corona Renderer.

Why don't give us time to make a decision?

I can confirm the bug in here. Corona 9 and Max 2023.2
I have to load postprocess preset with every loaded scene.

I'll also add that I've requested to downgrade to solo already, and it hasn't been done yet. 2 replies from Chaos on my ticket trying to upsell me still. You guys sound like a fucking cable company that can't take no for an answer, and honestly it's making me want to just drop Corona entirely or even bootleg it out of spite.

At the very least solo should have the ability to allow installation on 2 computers; I think that would please a lot of us that are pissed off. I understand price increases, expected them when Chaos took the wheel, and loved that up until now the promise of not raising prices was great under a new, young fresh company created by those in the same field. But throw us a fucking bone here, please.

This is what I got from Chaos Support:

The way you can downgrade to SOLO is to disable your automatic renewal. Steps below:
 
1. Go to my.chaos.com

2. Go to Products > Active products

3. Click on the product of your choice

4. Next to the Auto-renewal button : click on Cancel Subscription

5.  You will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm - click on Cancel Subscription

Once your subscription expires you can then purchase Corona Solo from here: https://corona-renderer.com/prices-licensing

Hmm, I can understand a price jump because of the general way of things these days, plus Chaos Cosmos included. But a 44% increase is quite alot (From 289,99EUR to 418,80EUR)
And this is only if I keep paying every year, or else we're talking an increase that's just wild(Solo + rendernode pricing)

I think an open dialogue and breakdown/reasoning behind this decision would be welcomed. Seems like we're getting the short end of the stick right now.

For now, see (link removed as it was just temporary to inform people of what was happening during the site and product wide updates) - can't get the full picture til all the information is out (and as Ondra noted, due to some things we couldn't control, the sequence of things going out was not as we wanted, which is why it seems confusing, sorry)

Hello,

Just got an email from Chaos Support with notification of Corona Subscription changes.
This is a bit confusing, stating that I will get one month of some Corona Premium for current price of 24,99 Eur (excl tax). After that, they say I will be charged 59,90 Eur (excluding tax).

I do not plan to pay double price, as we were told that price for long-term users will not change until we cancel current subscription.

Also, there is an offer of Corona Solo sub. plan (license fixed to one computer), but there is no info about pricing. I also cannot see anything about it in my account overview.

In general, a lot is happening with Corona but the process is CHAOS. Can somebody clarify the situation?
