[Max] Feature Requests / Re: The most wanted feature?
« on: 2023-10-18, 10:59:33 »
Hello. Just to add a wanted simple feature. Please make de Frame Buffer more resizable as possible. There is a minimum limit of resize. It would be great to get smaller than it is. There are people u still use small screen monitors at FHD.
Thanks

I see ,and understand both your answers.

But can any one explain a little better; (despite this matter will probably get away from this topic); a good method workflow to make big complex scenes in Architecture Master Plans, like (small city parts, with all assets important to it: trees, bushes, grass, terrains, streets, vehicles, buildings, surroundings, and the architecture project itself).

Thanks to all contributes.

Hi,

The reason why materials are not loaded with proxies is simple - that's because materials aren't saved with proxies. That's how proxies are designed and it's not a bug. This might, or might not change in the future, but for now, if you want proxies with materials, your best option is to save them inside Max file and merge them to your scene from there when needed.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
So, lets say. I can add any objects into my scene and convert them to corona proxy. Save them in a proper folder.
I can not load them directly from those proxy folder, but instead i can copy or merge proxys between scene files.
Is that correct?

I am starting a big Master Plan site project. We need to optimize a lots of file parts that will be added into a Master 3ds max File.
We have: Buildings + Streets + Cars + Trees + Project Architecture.
Made those files, like cars, peoples, trees with corona proxys.
Then i will use Xref Scene to insert them inside Master 3ds file.

Is this a good method?
Should i change any thoughts here?

Best Regards.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / proxy load without textures
« on: 2022-07-28, 19:07:03 »
Hello corona world.

Still no logical reason for not load textures after create proxy object.

My process:
Add one 3d object asset.
Optimize, organize and texturize asset.
Create and export proxy.
Testing render OK.

Then:
Load the proxy .cgeo file created before.
Proxy inserted in scene.
Proxy without textures.

Any fix for this?
This issues seems to occur for a long time as i can read on google and through some old poats here.

Suggestions?
Why i can not start a complete new 3ds max instance and add some proxy's already created in my folders?

Using 3ds max 2022.2
Corona 8 (hotfix2)
Windows 11 pro.
All clean installs and updates ok.

Best regards

Just do add some ideas.

- iR with the ability to resize as we want.
- Better syncronize with tone mapping parameters and corona camera mod.
- faster glare and bloom response.
- poligonal render selection.

7
Just simply enable the option to resize VFB Interactive Render as needed.

General CG Discussion / Re: Rhino to 3DSMax
« on: 2021-03-02, 10:16:06 »
Hi.. Found this interesting post here and i want to contribute because i use Rhino on my daily work and 3ds max at home.
Well! There was the MoI 3D in which you can add ngons on exports but today we have Rhinoceros 7 and their retopology + sub-D methods.
Although i have been struggling with this to.
What i found:
Simple geometries like regular extrudes, boxes, surfaces... All kind of regular solid its better to export as simple DWG.
All geometry goes clean and retain layers information. Perfect here.
Complex geometries, like curves, parabolas, hyperbolic, or any other curved surface object, let say, a wash basin, a tap water, a toilet, a car, or any similar, there is a need on this objects to be clean as possible. Mostly close and well modeled. After you can retopology them before export.
From here i found .STEP a good non kill curves. No faces triangulates. All viewport seems clean. But then when you need to convert to poly for Chamfer purposes or any other, we get Fuc...ked.
OBJ, FBX, 3DS max formats, some how is a mess but they retain all information in export.
If the geometry is a mesh you can select all edges and press "clean edges" in the modifier panel. The weld vertex.
Conclusions... Still today i never found a good explanation for this. As far i have found it is because of the NURBS Algorithm from Rhino department.
Its a pain to get rid of those tessellations in viewport.
If there is anyone with a googd solution let us know.
Cheers

Hi.

I am sorry. I can not replicate what i fell about corona 6 vs corona 5. It just feels more sluggish.
Probably is because 3dsmax 2021 (update 3).
It just feel less smooth compared Corona 5 inside 3dsmax 2020 (update 3).

for instance one thing i remember bets is the Bloom effect. Some how It does not behave like the previous one. And only works better with a lot of sun light projected on objects.

I have to keep working and see if this occur because i have used files made in previous 3dsmax 2020 version.
Perhaps if i made a complete new file with another project (soon) inside the new versions it will be more smooth.
Lets see what happens.

Cheers and thanks.

I found that to.
For some reason, some maps wont behave like you demonstrate on Corona 6 new features video.

Hope you could fix it, otherwise i have to say Corona 5 still works better
Cheers

Thanks.
I hope corona team could deliver us a Corona Hotfix2 whit many fixes as i feel this Corona 6 is not to stable and fast like it is Corona 5.
For some reason, in my fast machine, Corona 6 is sluggish. It freezes some fractions of seconds. I do not know if this is due the compatibilities with 3dsmax 2021.3 or is it Corona itself.

Thanks.
Cheers

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Interactive render inside viewport ???
« on: 2021-01-22, 10:20:09 »
Hi.
Its only me or there is any one more with this issue. I do not know if this to be like this or not. i will try to explain.

Imagine this scenario:
- 3ds max with 2 viewports. One top view and the other with a corona camera view created.
- Lock that camera in Corona Setup so interactive wont change when pick another viewport.
- Start interactive render in viewport of that corona camera.
- Try to adjust camera by moving it in top view.
- Interactive wont update in realtime like it do in VFB corona window.

Awkward is that camera angle field is updating realtime but camera moving is not.

I dont know this is a known situation but as far my logic goes it should be doing realtime update even inside 3ds max viewport. Or not???

I have been asking to some people to replicate this and its happen in their builds to.
Its happen when i was traying Corona 5 and 3ds max 2020 to.

My setup.
Corona 6 | 3ds 2021.3 | AMD 3950x 32 cores | 64GB Ram | SSD 500GB

Regards.

Thanks for your help. Soon i will get back to this work and re-check your suggestion.

Cheers and thanks for your time.
