Hi Romullus,

I suspected it was a 3dsmax limitation, thank you for pointing this.
Ok for the workaround, not the most efficient but no matter :)

Regards.

Hello :)

A standard 3dsmax behavior makes it possible to drap & drop a bitmap directly from the Windows Explorer into a 3dsmax map slot, thus creating automatically a Bitmap map. When using Corona materials, it doesn't work: we need to create manually a Corona Bitmap, then add / drag & drop a bitmap into the map path.
Would it be possible to override this, to get be able to use drag & drop with automatic Corona Bitmap creation ?

Thanks.

Hello,

Nice to see some retail images ! that changes from the eternal scandinavian-like interiors :)
Very nice job, congratulations. A nice project with nice images, I bet your client is delighted.
I particularly like the Paris_Shop_5 image.

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: LightMix setup options
« on: 2017-11-29, 17:23:16 »
Hi,

So no one ? is that such a stupid suggestion ? ;)

Hello,

While the currently available options are interesting, we'd need more to cover a maximum of needs. Would it please be possible to separate LightMix layers by for example:
- scene layers (when we have to split various lights sets on several layers, these lights aren't necessarily instanced)
- name selection sets (can be useful in some cases)

Thanks a lot :)

Regards.

Hello,

What about animating a Loft object (deformation curves), used as an operand in a Boolean ?

While the animation is, technically, pretty cool, I'm still wondering how one can be fascinated by something that kills people. Certainly too old for this ;)
Anyway, well done, it's a great job !

We are working hard on quality, new features, and listening to you as well.

Hello,

Nice to see someone from Autodesk around !
So if you really listen to users, please consider something: take a break from the new features, and focus HARD on stability / performance / bugs fixes. You'd be surprised how users would be delighted. We're about to jump from 2016 to 2018 in the next weeks (because of obscures licensing stuff), and I must admitt I'm a bit anxious.
As a user working on 3dsmax since v2.5, I'd be please to give feedback. So far, really disappointed on what 3dsmax has become (or not become ;) ).

Thanks,

Best regards.

the script to normalise the render elements to the path of the main render doesn't seem to be supported in the latest max version :( I'll keep looking for something similar then, but thanks :)
Hmmm not tested myself. Maybe worth sending a message to the creator ?

[Max] General Discussion / Render Node Monitor
« on: 2017-11-08, 11:08:10 »
Hello,

Just in case you don't know this tool, and may need it, don't hesitate to give Render Node Monitor a try: https://rendernodemonitor.com/
We've used it for months now, very happy with it ! I guess people using Deadline will laugh, but I think RNM fills an interesting gap.
FYI, it handles BB servers, VRay Spawners, Corona DR Servers, and more with a bit of cheating. The guys behind it are very responsive, don't hesitate to contact them.

Regards.

centralised maps is a total base requirement for us and probably every studio
Should be priority #1 !!!

same here, although I'm looking for a script that automaticaly sets the paths of all the render elements into the path of the "save as" for the main render -

Hello,

First, close Render Setup window. Then try that:

Code: [Select]
re = maxOps.GetCurRenderElementMgr()
for i = 0 to re.NumRenderElements()  do re.SetRenderElementFilename i ""

Thanks to SugaR for this piece of code :)

[Max] I need help! / Re: Batch camera script
« on: 2017-11-06, 16:21:11 »
ok sorry, then Backburner can be help?
Sure, but it implies opening each file, setting it up, an submitt to BB. I guess he wants to avoid that, but it's a solution for sure :)
