Hi there.

I have a friend that don't do render professionaly, he's been using A7.2 so far, but he is going to test 1.0, and he asked me what happens when the 45days trial ends, what are the limitations?

Currently with vray for example you can do everything but with a water mark, what is the case here?

Cheers!

Hi there.

That's the question, I would like to know that because I'm going to start some Corona related work (not a project, some documentation work) and having Maya in mind could be great, of course I mean a public alpha becuasae for what I do I would like to Corona to be available to everybody, not just us, testers.

Cheers!

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but this is an amazing technique that can be great to have in Corona, and now that Fusion turned out free in one of it's editions, and support it, this could be a great addition and a time-saver for sure!

Cheers.

Hi.

I tried the latest release and there is a problem with the render view and the bucket mode, the render finished without finishing the update of the render view, but the saved file is correct, attached is a sample picture of the problem.

Hi there.

This is our first publication to the gallery, it's not our first complex Corona project, but it's the first one we've been able to publish.

It's a promotional video for Casacom, a company that sells POF (plastic optic fiber) up to 1Gbps, this is a video that gives a gneral overview of different products of the company, we are in the middle of another one that is aimed to the small customer for the Do It Yourself kits.

I'll attach a picture as sample, but this is a video that can be watched in our site, I can't publish it outside our site, sorry.

Hope you like it.

The subject says it all but... Pleeeeeeeease! Tell us tight away! I want to be scared ASAP, I need to prepare myself :S corona is now the base of my projects and I'm afraid about pricing and licensing :S

Hi there.

I don't know how hard could that be, maybe is really hard or maybe is really simple, I don't know, but could be great to be able to render particles as points in space without geometry.

Cheers!

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Animated render region
« on: 2014-08-27, 11:14:13 »
Think that you have to render a fix for a scene, but it's around one object, it's not just that object, but around it.

So my idea is similar to something Maxwell had in it's first releases (I don't know if it still have it), using an image sequence as alpha to define the render region, so you have a white zone animated around your object and it does not matter how much the camera is moving becuase it will render just where the white zone is.

So in the end, B/W image sequence to define the render region.

Well, in the Jeff Patton thread there has been a lot of talk about this, but I've been thinking about different uses I used to give to Matte/Shadow, and so far there is one problem with the current Shadow Catcher workflow.

Take this scenario, think that you have a set, let's take an interior scene, now you have a character walking around the set, now a way to efficiently render this and to be able to make changes to the character without having to render everything again and again is to separate the character from the set.

Ok, now if we use the current workflow A LOT of information will be lost, the reflected light in the different objects in the set, the reflected wall colors for example, and you loose every material in the set if you replace it with the shadow catcher.

Possible solution, as in other render engines, instead of having to replace the material of the object we may have the option to flag the object as shadow catcher, this way we will be able to define matte objects without destroying the scene materials, without loosing the light detail generated by those objects, without loosing the shadows casted by the non matte objects over the matte objects.

What do you think people?

And now a question towards keymaster and corona team, do you think is something easy and fast to implement?

Cheers!

I think Corona needs better memory management.

I have some interiors, and just one room can fill up 8Gb of ram, it's not a madness interior, so I don't understand why it can take so much ram with just one scene, I'll publish here the video once it's done so you can see what I mean.

What do you think?
Have you struggled over the scenes to fit them in RAM? (not being super duper complex ram eating scenes I mean... a forest don't count hehehe)

Hi there.

I have to extract a mask for the environment, wich I will be rendering apart, in my current scene my environment is behind a glass, how can I extract a mask for it?
There is no Environment render element.

Hi there.

I have a scene that uses more than 8Gb of ram, wich is the ram I have in some nodes, somfar. I had no problem with those nodes, but in the latest scene it seems that corona eats all the node memory in the precalc phase and it kills those nodes, so backburner crashes everything, I know that eventually those nodes pass the precalc phase and corona starts to render with a much lower memory print.

Any ideas on how to face this, this  makes some of my nodes completely unusable, and I need those nodes, it's an animation with a 1hour per frame or more, so I need ecery Ghz I can get.

Cheers.

HI there Ondra!

I have a scene that is taking around 16Gb to rende, in my 32 Gb workstation there is no problem, but when I tried to render it in another workstation we have with 16Gb I just receive an exception and nothing renders, when I changed to debug mode and I changed the to Full BVH it rendered but it was rendering at less than half the speed, that proc with that scene should render at 2.8k/3k more or less, and it was rendering at 800 more or less.

Can I export some kind of debug report or something similar?

Cheers.

Hi Haggi.

Do you think you could try to integrate this new features in the next release? I mean that to test it with Maya fluids, it could be great to play with it.

There are a lot of more basic things that are not htere yet, and I know it, I mean this just if it's relatively fast and easy to do, I don't want to make you loose time.

Cheers!

Hi there.

I'm not sure this is the right forum to start this thread, also I don't post it in the help forum because it's not really coronas's related help, if this is not the right place, please move it where it should be.

I'm struggling my head with this, and call me a silly, but I can't figure it out.

I really like the highlight compression feature, but I also like to work with 32 bit exr in post, but I can't figure out how to reproduce the "highlight compression" feature in after effects or Composite.

Does someone knows how to reproduce it?

Cheers!
