It would be helpful if the triplanar node could keep the aspect ratio of each bitmap.

This would be helpful when, for example, using coronaSelect with images that are not square.

Thank you

Triplanar is not messing with aspect ratio. If you have non square texture, first you need to setup tiling correctly in the bitmap node itself and then triplanar will work as expected. It's not triplanar's job to work with aspect ratio.

I understand. Maybe this can be done within CoronaBitmap then? Like a checkbox "get aspect ratio from bitmap"

Maybe, but i think you should start new request for that. I'm moving this topic to resolved board.

Just a friendly reminder of this request, hopefully included in version 13

Hi,

I don't fully understand this request. Do you want triplaner to bypass or ignore the bitmap tiling?

This is currently available by manually getting the needed tiling and inputing in the bitmap, or using a reference node for triplanar map and scaling accordingly.

I think the feature request definitely makes sense and the workaround which are done manually can/shall be implemented under the hood as a default or as an option.

If this gets implemented (and I certainly hope that it does!) can it be added with a tick-box in the Triplanar map UI? Some users may need the current behaviour and fixing it with no way to undo could mess with some users' workflow.

Cheers!

Surely, supporting previously created scenes/maps/materials is a constant approach for new features.
This is reported now.
