Hi Everyone,

In the most recent daily build we have switched from the legacy licensing to the Chaos licensing. You can find the full changelog, including currently known limitations, here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=34088.msg195258#msg195258. We are also aware of an potential issue that in some cases users can find "No licenses available" in the Chaos License server - we already know the root cause of this and are activelly working on a solution.

This thread is to post any feedback you have on the new licensing, and we'll be monitoring it closely for the next few days in the case anyone has any issues. As usual, if you have some urgent issue please contact support at: https://support.corona-renderer.com/hc/en-us

hello,

anyone with a mac version got this working?

I'm on M1 big sur

I installed the lic server and nothing happens, when I open corona and try to activate it says can't reach server, when i try to open lic server it won't open on the browser.

the Chaosgroup folder is located under applications folder and not in User/Chaosgroup as mention on the release notes

I know you mention a file to be placed on specific folder, but I can't find anywhere this sample file. :/

Maybe I just need a more detailed step by step

The license server had zero k file size. So I am afraid the installer does not properly provide the license server.

PROVISIONAL SOLUTION.
Go to the following link and log the license. You have to do it every time you turn on the mac and as long as you have the session open it works even if you close cinema 4d. It is a temporary solution.
1- Run cinema
2- Link
3- Log license
4- Corona!!!

So... I have a local license server working on my LAN - successfully authenticated with Chaos to get my available licences (1 Full Corona + 3 Render Nodes) - so now a bit confused. I have all my Team Render clients pointed at the local server with the xml file method. So unless I'm mistaken - I would have thought TR client would have grabbed a Render Node license? It's pulling a full license instead?

TR would not require a GUI license, just Render Node licenses. If something not working as expected, maybe best to contact support with the email address being used for your Chaos account (you should be able to check that yourself too, see what GUI and Render Nodes you have, which are in use, etc)

I've done exactly that - the feedback/status in the license server matches my findings in that a full license is activated in TR client. Should I not be clicking "Activate License" in the Licensing popup in the TR Client Corona prefs?

Ah - That was it - no need to activate - the Node licences are pulled on demand once a job starts.

Hi,

Got some time to try V8 but stuck in licensing....!

I am using Vray also which is company account and Corona is in personal account.
Before give any try login and logout...
if I logout from chaos licensing, Vray I can use or not...? anyone tried Vray and Corona with different license...?

Any news for the Mac m1 users. To my knowledge the latest daily build with the new licence system does not work yet.

Please don't! Why did you replace a simple system with a complicated one? This is similar to what we know from Autodesk. The new licensing makes everything much more complicated.

It was so simple, about the registration. Once a license server is in play, there are always problems. Please leave the old way of licensing!

I would like to say that we are tech-savvy and very familiar with the technology. From experience, it takes hours to get such a license started.

Currently the server remains offline and we do not get it running despite the instructions.

Work from home and to switch account... I can not call every day IT guy to login in company account....!
OR option to login multiple account...!

Does anyone know how I can get my Team Render Clients running (WIN 10 PC with C4D R25 Team Render Clients)?

The full version on my MacBook was easy to handle, I could choose the server and it worked. I installed the Client Server (V 5.5.5) on each of the TR machines, which seems to run well. And Corona is loaded when I start the clients. But no license is found, although I checked for the XML file. Unfortunately, there is no button to specify the server ...

I must admit that the ease of use together with the fine render results were the reasons to prefer Corona Renderer over V-Ray. And as far as I can say with the first trials, it will be even better with the next release. But the license stuff is really annoying.

I have the same setup - but one central license server on a machine that's always on. Much simpler that way. I just configured all TR clients to point to that with the XML file.

I thought I'd give it a go. UX feedback for anyone at Corona/Chaos from a guy who isn't big on tech but just wants to get on and do his work. Installs the same as usual. Nice so far.

And then things fall apart (note: I work in UI/UX…)

I open Cinema and get an error about not being able to access Chaos something or other. The Learn more blue text (is it a link?) doesn't do anything. I ignore the error as it's in the same modal that I see other errors that are dismissible.

I open a scene. Hit Interactive rendering. New error. 'Failed to get licence for product Corona for C4D.' I can retry, activate trial, open the licence server or cancel. I have no idea what a license server is (it's just me on one machine here) I know I have a full year sub so I don't think I need a new trial. My options are now limited to retry or cancel.
I re-read paragraph 2. How do I check check I'm logged in? to what?
It says I can Contact support — but doesn't say where? is there supposed to be a Link?

Sod it, I have work to do, I'll just Activate a new trial and deal with it later. Link opens a webpage. I enter my Corona login detail. Incorrect password. Shit. It's definitely the correct password. Now I'm feeling very stupid. Was someone at Chaos supposed to let me know that as a Corona customer I need new credentials to use the app?

My next thought is to delete this and install the previous version. Not ideal, but hopefully this user journey is helpful. The main reason I love Corona is how SIMPLE everything else it, but this onboarding experience is not good. IMHO.

---- If anyone could tell me how I can get Corona to work now that would be ace as I have no idea.

We still have problems getting our license to run. The server is still not recognized. We do not like this development at all. It was so easy and now there will just be problems, like with other known license systems from Autodesk. Apparently we are not logged in, but we are and we also see the licenses in our account. This is really no condition and should be fixed until the release.

I hope that there are no problems until the release. Fact is, if you need a guide for activating a license, then that is not a user-friendly way. ;)

Can you please make sure that you do not have a space in the address?
It should be: http://localhost:30304/
Not: http://localhost: 30304/

hello! actually, Coropna 8 for C4d ask each time I open it to be activated by the web connection; as I am in a very poor area for web connecting, C 8 is nearly ipossible to use§§§§ As I am working on assignment, is there a solution????? thank you for helping! (urgent!)
