ok, thanks Maru.  I think I had created this material using a cosmos material as a starting point, and modified some shaders.  I probably don't need the triplanar in this case, but a lot of the cosmos materials are using it, so I can see this being an issue in many cases - or are you saying it's only when combined with the mapping randomizer?  Or was it just a bug in the v12 that was never identified?

-Hi Tom - we are still having the problem.  We even tried uninstalling 13 and reinstalling 12, but that didn't change anything.  Here's a screenshot of partial render done in v12 (intended tiling) and also in v13 (smaller scale tiling).  i have included screenshots of the material setup from v13 as well, but I don't have access to the original v12 install.  I will ask my colleagues if they have a v12 install so we can create a simplified file - this one is too large and highly confidential

Hi Tom...  I don't have v12 installed anymore, so I don't know how to verify this issue.  I will try to install v12 on another machine and test it out.  thanks

I have updated to Corona 13, and now working in some files that were created in v12, and I'm having some problems with tri-planar mapping scale being different (much smalle tiling of textures)...  is this documented somewhere, or is it a bug? Is there a scale setting that I can change to get the expected scale from my old files?

Thanks Maru - I will investigate the suggestions by Juraj.  Unfortunately I'm stuck with this machine for this deadline, and perhaps longer term as well ;)

I don't quite understand the workflow to use the AI enhance.  What is the required file format?  I have the AIenhance pass activated in multipass, and I tried EXR and CXR but I don't see the AI enhance icon activated in VFB2 in either case. I am rendering a 1920x1080 image for 10 passes.  If I open the VFB2 from Picture viewer, but it makes no difference.

edit: ...nevermind - I hadn't added the actual AI enhance pass...  my mistake!

[C4D] I need help! / non-interaction on threadripper 2990WX

I have a problem with being able to do anything else in the viewport, when using the VFB (edit: VFB2).  I have a threadripper 32-core 2990WX on a windows 11 PC with 64GB RAM and a RTX 3080ti, running C4D 2025.2.1 and Corona 13.  I have tried changing the # of threads override to -16, -32, -64 and I see a reduction in CPU utilization accordingly, but really no change in viewport responsiveness.  I can not even navigate the view of a simple scene with only a single object.  Trying to stop the VFB is also very slow.  Basically any kind of interaction is impossible.  I don't understand why this is, and I'm wondering if there are any other factors involved, and what can I do about it?  Perhaps it's something specific to the 2990WX?...  I do not have the same problem on my other PC, an intel cpu with much fewer cores.  open to suggestions, as this is very frustrating for me, having just switched over to this machine.

Thanks Tom!  I actually was unaware that I could render the panoramas in Corona...  so that's what I'm doing now.  First time for everything, LOL.  Chaos Cloud Virtual Tour works perfectly...  Am I understanding correctly that I only need to purchase credits if I want to render on the Cloud, and that the Collaboration part (including the Virtual Tour) is free?

What's the latest on Chaos Cloud?  I don't remember hearing much about that, but only just came across it because I'm researching ways to host 360 pano tour.  ( I aslo made a separate post in this regards).

As I tried to describe in the subject, I wish to use Vantage link from within Corona for C4D to generate 360 panoramas for use in a virtual tour, to share with client. 
I'm having a hard time dissecting the information on the internet if this is possible, so would appreciate feedback from developers, or users in this regard. 
I also need to share the panoramas (preferably in a packaged interface), and hope that Chaos Cloud can offer this functionality, but again, am struggling to find specific info in this regard, as Cloud seems mainly focused on Cloud rendering service.  Am I misunderstanding the capabilities?

I've already posted this over on the chaos Vantage site, but not sure how much traction that site gets, and figured I'd post here, since it's C4D specific.  Apologies in advance for cross-posting, but I feel like it's a critical issue (at least for me!)

I'm using C4D + Corona 13 daily (Mar 5 2025), and updated Vantage to latest 7.2.1 I have never really tested it before, but running into a huge roadblock right off the bat:

- I have a simple scene with 2 objects, a camera, Corona Sun and Sky.
- I start livelink
- Exposure is blown out - no biggie: I change the exposure from "None" to "Physical" - all good!.
- I move the sun inside C4D - the location updates in Vantage... great!
- I move the viewport camera in C4D... Exposure in vantage now reverts to "None", and it's blown out again. WHY!?

Another example:
- I switch the Environment Mode from "Physical Sky" to "Solid Color"
- any camera move in C4D now reverts the Env Mode... WHY?

I don't understand how I can even get started using this.

I wanted to continue this thread with additional observations (not sure if they need to be reported as bugs):

- when exporting from C4D file that has 3D people assets from the Cosmos Browser, the UVs are messed up once inside Vantage...  but if the same assets are imported from within Vantage, from the Cosmos Browser, then the the UV's are fine.  Just wondering if this is a known issue, and why this might be happening, since the assets should be the same (coming from Cosmos).

I also have some decals created in Corona, but when exported the materials are not correct.  I see in the documentation that the decals are supported, but do they need to be created inside Vantage?  If so, how can I use my Corona material that was set up inside C4D?  I'm looking at the material lister, and can't even find the material, because the names have all been changed to random alphanumeric values that don't make sense.  What's the best workflow for decals?

Another issue with the materials, in addition to the naming mentioned above - I also see many material previews that have a 50/50 (vertical line separation) showing 2 different materials - I'm not sure what this is supposed to indicate, and I'm having a hard time verifying if it's applied somewhere in the scene.  I'm guessing it could be a material that is applied to a polygon selection?
