Hi,

I'm having very long waiting times for opening any file in Cinema 4d S26 and Corona 9. I contacted Maxon support because I thought the problem was some materials with textures connected to my Database of the new Asset Browser but in the end we realized that the problem is the long loading of the materials using Corona renderer. Without materials or using native 4D cinema materials this does not happen.
For the rest once opened the Corona 9 scene seems to work well

Hi,

i just posted the video in the support section.

The problem is the slowness in opening the scene and specifically in loading the materials because these are linked with the textures of the content Browser. In R24 with Corona 8 instead no problem and the test file is always the same.
If, on the other hand, I save the scene with Assets the problem is also solved on Corona 9, again in C4d S26.

Hope this helps

c4d gets very slow when it misses or searches textures, in specially if you have many search paths.
using absolute texture paths helps in my experience

Yes true. But this has nothing to do with it as I use the exact same setup in C4D 22.

In 22 it opens in 10 sec. In 26 the same file with same paths is 1 minute.

This is not super crazy but still annoying when you have to change files quite often ...

I noticed a bit of a lag too...

So, any difference in used plugins?
Is "Project asset inspector" properly informed? Files organized in orderly manner and using fast disks, AV off, not putting disks to sleep?

I confirm the problem is still there in the S26, I his many materials through the Cinema 4d asset browser and in previous versions it opens instantly (R25, S22) while in the R26 it struggles to load.

Hi Stefan, for example I use your metal material bundle and loaded it into the Cinema asset browser and I always have the material loading problem. the disks where they reside are SSD.
Can you give it a try to see if you have the same problem?
thank you

The asset browser can be a problem depending on how fast your hardest is, I have a Mac studio with very fast internal ssd and now files open super quick. R26 CRv9.
C4D also changed the way previews for the asset browser are done. You can now assign local previews instead of having to download all assets before you use them.
