Hello.

As a newbye with this render engine, I'd like to know if anyone here could help me with the creation of this material I've seen in this photo. The question is taht I want to create this perfume and you can watch the reference for my goal, the settings in my slate material editor (I'm using 3DSMAX2014) and my previous render.

So here you are:
First the reference of the perfume and then the settings in the slate material editor.

Which could be the solution?. I suppose there are more than one way to solve this.

The problem is that I can't see the black letters of "platinum". :-/

Thank you in advance.

Jose.

Hi. Might be me that is a bit confused from you're pictures, but it looks like you're trying to make an all in one material. Is that right? I would make 3 materials: one for the perfume, one for the glass, and one for the text. Text and glass could be combined to one Blend material or Composite material.

Regarding the missing black text, then it looks like you're creating "holes" instead of "black" because of using the wrong the opacity map. Use the inverted version, or invert it via a Color Correction map.

You should plug this b&w map into refraction slot, not opacity. Also, do not use it as diffuse. Use pure black color.

You can download this free sample and check how it was made.
It was made for V-Ray but it really doesn't matter.
Or this

Thank you very much for the model nik684.

I didn't wanted to make a complet and right scene because it's gonna be seen from a considerable distance...But how nik684 has pasted this link and PROH has recommended indirectly this way to solve this, I will take profit of both advices.

The advice of Maru didn't solve my problem. :-/

Thank you. I' will try all this and post the result.

I've solved it with the idea of the creación of the whoke modelo, I wanna say: the exterior crystal container and the inner líquid or perfume.

Additionaly I've added some noise in the bump slot in order to create some curved distortion in the inner líquido.

Within 3 hours I will send the result.

The inly issue is the white speckles in the tender, whixh costa too much render time to clean.

Thank you very much maru, nick684,etc

So, here you are.  :)

Maybe I didn't achieve the desired result with the "Platinum one" because I want the letters appear in black...

I will keep working on them a bit more.

Thank you all.

Why not use the technique I showed few posts earlier? DON'T put your bitmap into diffuse channel! Set it to black. This will prevent the white edges of letters...
