Awesome stuff! Minimalist approach. Really easy to setup compared to many others.

Unfortunately it suffers from mapping inaccuracy a bit. Not much, but it's there. (See screenshot1)
The whole image is being re-projected "wavy". You only see this on straight lines though.

Screenshot 2 shows a way worse example of mine from another Pano viewer that suffers from this. There it is truly horrible. With your's it's very subtle, but wanted to note that.

Yes, I've noticed it also, but I've only used it as a quick way to view panorama images and since nobody said anything, I left it and forgot about it... The image is mapped on a sphere, and it might be that the sphere is too low res. I'll make some tests when I get the time and update if I fix it.

Edit: Yup that was it. I made the sphere a lot denser and the wavy lines seem to be gone. I updated the .zip file in the first post. You don't need to replace the whole thing, just upload the new "show_pano.php" from the archive and replace the old one.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Pannellum Panorama

I decided to release a panorama tool I developed for work, you might have use for it. It's a lot easier and more flexible that pannellum, you just drag and drop panorama images to upload and the rest is taken care of. It's here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=22550.0

Guys thanks so much for the response.
I actually got it right with their example in that I uploaded the PANO to my Imgur account
and copied that link into the space they provided. It created the code that I added to
my squarespace site and voila ! Panorama without any watermarks and free....

I am battling a bit to get it to look bigger on the website instead of just the little
block but I'll get there : )

Thanks again guys

A while ago I made a tool for my group at work for quickly viewing 360 panoramas and since it works well I took some time to clean it up and release it for free. It's web based and you will need to upload it to your own server, but there's no installation or setup, it takes a couple of minutes.

Demo: http://otakt.com/pano_demo/

Sales pitch:

- Upload and view 360/panorama images in two-ish clicks
- Simple interface
- Works on desktop and mobile (tested in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Edge - should work in other browsers)
- Desktop: rotate using mouse, fullscreen button opens normal fullscreen
- Mobile: gyro rotation (rotate/move phone to look around), fullscreen button opens VR view

Easy sharing:
- Automatically creates QR code (click on QR code to open large version)
- Automatically creates direct links to each image (just open an image and copy the url)

Installation:
- Unpack zip
- Upload to your server
- Go to yoursite.com/otakt_pano (or wherever you put the files)
- ??

Download link: www.otakt.com/public/otakt_pano.zip

Let me know if you find any bugs or have suggestions.

I've used pannellum, but I switched to A-Frame. Both are meant to be integrated into a web site by the user, you in this case. They're not finished, standalone products and if you're looking for a more user friendly solution, you're probably looking for something else. I can't help you more than that though, but I'm sure there must be something.

I would recommend GarageFar.net, I've been using them and I've had practically no issues.

Good to know. I checked around before I chose Rebus and Garagefarm was almost twice as expensive, which would have meant a lot of money in this project, but it might work in smaller projects. Then again, I guess corona cloud could be three times the price when it's up and running...

I have never seen that project on the road map, so the question isnt "when", but rather if at all.
yes, we definitely want to be part of vray cloud (probably to be renamed to chaos cloud ;))

Is this years away or soon-ish? I just had to do a big job using Rebus, and it was not a good experience, would rather not go there again.

It doesn't really look like it follows a consistent pattern so you could use the topology dialog to simulate it.

create a plane or surface with square sized segments > edit poly

Modelling ribbon > polygon modeling dropdown menu > Generate topology

Click on the second pattern for tiles.

Then you can use a detach faces script to separate.

I had no idea this was there, I could have used that a number of times in the past. Thanks.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: DR using old xrefs when rendering
« on: 2018-09-04, 19:26:08 »
Are your "up to date" xrefs stored on a local drive, or in some network location?
Have you tried cleaning your "working directory"? (it is printed in the DrServer window)

We have all our project files on a network. No, haven't tried that, I'll try it next time it happens.

You can save to CXR to have all elements with no post and then grab the post versions from CIE. https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000030886-what-is-the-corona-image-editor-

Ok, that's more of a workaround but I'll try it out. Thanks.

[Max] Bug Reporting / DR using old xrefs when rendering
« on: 2018-09-03, 11:03:54 »
I have a heavy scene that is basically all xrefs and I can't use DR because each render node seems to be using different versions of the xrefs. Is there a way to flush the cache or force the nodes to reload xrefs? Maybe it's somewhere obvious that I've missed.

26
Would it be possible to have a checkbox for applicable render elements to turn on/off post processing? It would be really handy to have "raw" beauty/lightmix elements when doing post in photoshop.

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Daily builds version 3

I'm using the old .bat file trick to run 1.7.4 and 3beta on the same machine, but the 3beta install refuses to find the nvidia denoiser .dll's ("Failed to initialize NVIDIA AI denoiser: Unable to load required DLLs. Please make sure that the the NVIDIA AI denoiser Corona component is correctly installed."). I tried putting them in Max/plugins and the max root, but no luck. I don't want to run the installer, because I don't want to remove 1.7.4, so where do I put the NVidia files?

I've done a few hospitals, including the tunnels below, and I just add a hidden light (or several). Nobody will notice if you do it right and it renders in no time.

I made a quick util to control the daylight assembly from a popup panel. It's very quick and could probably be refined, but it works for me, so I thought I'd share. Only one daylight assembly is selected, so it won't work with more than one (for now).

Drop the script in max and then it should appear in the "RH" category (you'll have to make a button or menu item).

(I just noticed that the screenshot is in the wrong language, the script is in english)

You can control the size etc through the environment material, which is a bit cumbersome, but everything works. About two seconds after I posted I realised that because you control the sun settings through the material, you can't have a sun and an HDRI environment (= if you put an HDRI in the env slot, the sun is gone). Seems like they thought this only half way through.
