3dsmax 2016 has stopped working on Windows 7.

I have uninstalled every autodesk product,
deleted adskflex_xxxxxxxx_tsf.data file in ProgramData\FLEXNet.
deleted all files in c:programs\Autodesk\
deleted all files in c:Users\Autodesk\

Reinstalled 3dsmax 2016

I'm wondering if there is some windows update that has screwed it up ?

3dsmax 2017 works

how about "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\ ? Did this go away with uninstall, or did you remove files there afterwards manualy? If not, try removing 3ds max files there after uninstall.

What exatly do you mean by "stopped working"? Do you see some error message after starting Max, or maybe nothing happens after you click the icon? What is happening?

Hi Maru,

It just hangs on the splash screen.

I've just upgraded my forest pro so now I can use 3dsmax 2017.

The event viewer calls it a application hang

can you temporarily disable any antivirus or third party firewall if you use them?

Can you create a minidump file when it is frozen, and send it to us? https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000524006-how-to-report-issues-

Update
Okay I deleted the  C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2016 - 64bit for the second time and its up and running !!!

Thanks Maru,

I can't even get a minidump from 3dsmax, the "crash" window doens't come up.
I double click 3dsmax 2016 icon, 3dsmax splash screen comes up and just sits there, I can leave it and nothing happens.

As I said, you can get a minidump even if the "crash" window is not there. See point 2 here: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000524006-how-to-report-issues-
