[Max] Resolved Bugs / Corona scatter freeze
« on: 2019-11-07, 12:42:25 »
Hi,

since v5 update, previous scene with big corona scatter (100 instances) freezes, can't work with it unless I uncheck auto-update.

Any idea ?

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Hair motion blur issue
« on: 2019-09-12, 16:50:47 »
Hi !

I'm facing some problems regarding hair and motion blur.

Looks like the hair don't get the camera motion.

I'm using Corona version: 4 (Hotfix 1) with max 2019.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you Ondra.
For sure it can behave strangely, it can be hard to get 1:1 additive pass compositing vs beauty.
But in some situations we have to deal with it and let some more work to the comp guy ;), e.g. a fish in a tank...

Hi,

I wonder why "Render Elements visible in reflections/refractions" have not a higher rank on the priority list.
It's the rudimentary feature that keeps me using other renderers for serious vfx jobs.

Is it because of the complexity of the development, or it's just that vfx isn't the main target market for Corona ?

Thanks !

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: Apply atmospherics option
« on: 2018-12-19, 17:53:50 »
It's in right-clic, object properties.

Here is an usage :
imagine I have a scene with a volume fog applied to a big box surrounding the scene.
It's not a global volume cause I have to exclude some lights that I want to not generate volumetrics.
I have to render foreground objects separetly for compositings reasons.
So, I render everything but fg objects as matte, and I use selective render to render only fg objects.
BUT, I have to include the fog box in render in order to see volumetrics.
The problem is that fog will be computed over every objects of the scene, even those excluded by the selective rendering, resulting in unnecessary long render time.
Except if I could exclude objects from receiving volumetrics...

Hi,
would it be possible to make corona aware of this object option ?
Thanks.

Thanks, indeed it seems similar with a plane.
But the issue that some light still glows remains.

Hello,

here is a picture and a basic scene to better explain my issue.

Notice the difference in exclusion with LightMtl vs CoronaLight.

no, actually it happens even when not intersecting...

Okay, I found something, I' have actually two boxes to make my fog, a big one bounding the scene and a small one bounding the camera.
I made this in order to have a good behavior, similar to global volume one.

The exclude issue appears when my LightMtl object intersects he small box.

Hi,

don't know if it's a bug, CoronaLightMtl exclude feature doesn't seem to work with VolumeMtl assigned objects.

I try to make an emissive object invisible to a local fog with no luck...

I'm using stable Corona 3.
Thanks for your help.

Don't seems to fix the issue.
Maybe I'll have to simulate again, but don't have time by now.
