Hardware / 3990x vs. epyc 7702(2x)
« on: 2021-05-05, 16:17:40 »
Hey guys,
I consider to config a new highend workstation. I checked the corona benchmark and I'm not really certain about the trade of (return of invest).
I'm also confused about the top result with an "AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor"..should be not correct?

My current thoughts are on a 3990x vs. epyc 7702(2x) but it looks like that the 3990x gives a better return for my money?

Whats your experience multi soccet vs. single cpu?
My budget is open up between 8-20k, I focus on maximum power vs return.

Any suggestions?

So far the volume grid works basicly good. But if you want to render an animation from a written vdb file it instantly crashes. (single frame and interactive render works fine!)
also the imported vdb files are wrong scaled. ( I use turbulence fd to write the vdb files)

bugreport and scale fix in attachment.

Hope you can fix it asap.

In the end of 2018 I startet the concept of this building and scene. After long time no further development we got one year later a request from maxon (nemetschek) for a new keyvisual for there annual report. That was the idea to finish the project and after a lot of trial and designprocess, I finished it within the last days.

Special thanks to Maxon and the Nemetschek Group

New visualizations for our client Strenger Bauen und Wohnen.
The goal was to show a first architectural concept for the town councillor.
The design is an really early stage and we had not much time to create a clean model for the final images.

Hello folks,
after two weeks of trial & error, research and development - now  I'm proud to show you my first results of the non commercial project "the shelter".
The idea was inspired by an image from the photographer Michael Schauer.
The architectural context arise by my self and seems to be fit with the outline of the mountains.
Some of the most important aspects of the project are the approach to the sophisticated photorealism only with cg elements.

Software: Cinema 4D, Corona Render, Adobe Photoshop
Photoinspiration: Michael Schauer
Production: 5K
