Does anyone notice that whenever we want to render over black background corona seems to have slow down dramatically and it takes longer for the noise to resolve.

I had a similar situation regarding an animation with a lot of moving people, high poly animated trees and lighting variation. The UHD cache calculations were adding far too much time per frame for our budget (using rebusfarm to render), so ending up heavily optimizing the Corona render settings and using full path tracing which ended up drastically reducing our overall cost. The other benefit here is that there was zero splotching/flickering to deal with - which I have noticed before with moving lights/objects even if the UHD precision spinner is increased.

It should be noted that this was for an exterior animation so things were fairly fast (compared to an interior with lots of bounced light).

Hi there would you be able to elaborate on the workflow for optimisation as this could be helpful for other people with the same scenario? Cheers mate.

any news here? My support ticket was closed, but unfortunately there was no solution for the problem. Maybe this could be corrected in the upcoming version of Corona?
Did any of you find a possible workaround?

Hi Guys!

This is my first animation project with corona 4,I use forest pack and mengascans to creat the grass and the tree.
I have some flickering problem during testing.I konw my rendering passes are shot(about 5 with None Denoising mode).
but I don't konw if the intermittent disappearance of the plants also cause by this.
Would you please check my render setting screenshots? My CPU is AMD 3900X

Hi mcnamex, are you using forest pack or back-burner for batch rendering?

Yeah FP,RC,Backburner. But rendering locally behaving the same as well.

Hi guys,

Didn't mean to hijack this thread, but recently I've encountered this issue. It turned out to be corrupted geometry, most likely complicated sub mat object. On top of that it was converted using the corona converter script.
