Title: Teamrender renders darker. Alot darker.
Post by: cathor on 2016-04-05, 18:54:06
Anyone else have similar issue. First i thought maybe the clients werent receiving large assets but dome is visible in reflections. All clents have the same version installed. A5rc2

TIA

No need for the betatesting version. A5 release is closer than you think.  ;)

There was a bug which caused TR not to correctly set color profile of rendered image (it was always saved in linear rgb). It should be fixed in A5.1.

Sweet! Great to hear that it's sorted out.

Cheers

I confirm, there is still the color profile issue with TR in 5.1 when team rendering a single frame.
But I'm also experiencing missing frames, or black frames when using TR with multiple frames.
Has anyone made this working correctly?

I don't know if it's related but Corona VFB by itself darkens the output after it is stopped.
e.g.

Ok, I will check it out. It seems to be gamma-related - can you write your LWF / colorprofile settings? Also, is the result correct when you set Gamma to 2.2 in PV / Filter tab?

As of missing frames in animation, this seems strange as animations are mostly handled directly by C4D (most of Corona-related TR work is because of single-image rendering). Do you have some specific scene where you have problems?

Seems to me also...
Using
Linear Workflow checked / Input Color Profile: sRGB.
Have also tested other combinations: Linear, Disabled and LWF off.  In all cases Corona VFB 'breaks' gamma.
Applying gamma 2.2 to image rendered via Corona VFB corrects it. ;)

Same Problem here.
Render is a lot darker with TR.
Adding a gamma 2.2 in PictureViewer does the job. But not for multipass.
Seems to be a gamma problem.

I made some more tests with the scene kindly provided by Thomas from slashcube.

It seems like you have to enable C4d's LinearWorkflow in the project settings in order to get the correct result via TeamRender.

See two images attached.
The first one is with C4d's LWF off the second one LWF ON.
