I open up the environment window in 3dsMax and apply an environment HDR map. It shows up in my interactive rendering just fine.

When I open up the slate material editor to adjust to U offset between 0 and 1, the environment in the interactive render does not rotate. Additionally, when I adjust the RGB offset to brighten the map, it does not adjust either. Is there some sort of lock I might have activated that would keep these adjustments from happening?

I've attempted to plug in an aspect ratio into my camera that has a greater height than width, but it has only resulted in a square image. Is there a way to get a camera to render a frame that is in portrait mode or any other ratio that has more verticality than horizontality? I saw that you can rotate the camera, but I was hoping there's an easier way that doesn't force me to look at my monitor sideways. Thanks!

I created this wood floor using the Floor Generator plugin from CG Source. As you can see in the image below, the texture randomly applied to each board is stretch (it's a statuary marble texture).

Is there a way to automatically have the ratio of the UV mapping adjust to the ratio of the texture image if it's not a square? If so, how would I go about applying it to this wood floor editable poly.

I appreciate any help!

I'm trying to render this desk/kitchen island object, and I used the Deform Edges script to deform most of the edges. The deformation yields small imperfections on the faces which are then shaded in the rendering.

I'm trying to find a way to either deform the edges so they don't create these imperfections or tweak any setting if available that will mitigate these small shaded triangles.

I appreciate any help!

I should preface this by stating that I'm a beginner with 3dsMax.

I'm trying to figure out the scaling of material maps (diffuse, reflection, etc.). I know in the material editor (with a bitmap) you can edit the width, height, and set Real-World Scale if you wish. I also know that on the geometry itself there are UVW coordinates that the texture will align to when placed on a geometry. I'm wondering how exactly these relate (perhaps I have it all wrong). Is there a preferred way to edit the scaling of maps on objects?

If I have a material with more than one bitmap plugged into the CoronaMtl component, and let's say I adjust the width/height of one of the bitmaps—Do I then need to make the corresponding adjustments on the other bitmaps so they will align? Is there a method to having them link up?

If I import a material from the Corona Materials library, it will show a certain size in the width/height parameters within the material editor for the bitmaps. Should I consider this to be the correct default size for the texture?

I appreciate any help!

I just made the switch from V-Ray for Sketchup to Corona. I am familiar with a variety of vendors products from Design Connected, CG Connected, etc.

I would like to find out the best way to incorporate these items into workflow with Corona and 3dsMax.

I'm a beginner w/ 3dsMax. I cannot figure out what the best method would be for getting an object into my file I intend to render. For instance, if I need a chair from Design Connected to be inserted into my scene, I would first open up the .max file supplied by Design Connected. Would I then copy and paste the chair from that file into another instance of 3dsMax that has my scene file?

As a side question, I would like to know if there's an effective way to save-out object or groups of objects as components or blocks, similar to Sketchup. I apologize for asking such beginner questions. I don't intend to clog this thread with posts as basic as this one.
