Yes I had a look through these, WOuld be nice to have more varaition/options with doors open etc also. :)I guess it doesn't matter if the models have materials on.

Hi, Is there anywhere I can get good door and window models, even better if they haveCorona textures on already to go. :) Ideally looking for things like bi-fold and slide doors, windows and velux windows.

Hi. I've just upgraded to Windows 11. Everytime Windows is loaded it loads 2 Chaos windows, ChaosUnifiedLogin and Start Chaos License Server. How can I stop this happening?

I don't really have time at the moment to do the whole library.  Also its not great if this happens again. Is this a good way to work creating a model library with the content browser or is it buggy?

No for some reason the textures are not loading. It's just strange that the folder I sent a pic of works though.

I have recently upgraded my main hard drive that Windows is on and re installed C4D.

What's strange is that the example folder I sent an image for works fine and is in the same master folder as all the other models.

I put the .Lib file under Open preferences folder / library / browser

The lock icon for the tex folder is now gone as I have moved them back to the folder mentioned above. It seems I can also place the lib file under:
Local Disk(C) / program Files / Maxon / Cinema4D R20 / Library / browser
This seems to be a different location and thats where it was when I had the lock icon on the tex folder.

So for all of these models I have dragged them into the content brower and it creates a tex folder also. I've attached one of the folders as an example.

I can see that the textures are in the tex folder. it has always worked fine in the past so confused me why all the texture links are broken.

All of the textures are on my computers hard drive.

HI.

I have lots of models with Corona materials on in my content browser.

All of a sudden none of the textures are working but I can see the texture path is correct. Has anyone had this problem, is there a fix or is it a bug?

you need to use the pattern tiling setting inside the UV space tab. if you want 10x copies in u and v set tiling (IN pattern setting) to 10 for u and v (NOT in nat mapping setting of the base object)

Hi, did you check out the video in the article? It guides you how to use it. No need for guessing. ;) Literally, 1 minute into the video the tiling is explained. Please keep in mind that results are only shown when rendered, so you'll need to fire up the IR to view them. I hope that helps.

Yes I checked out the video thanks.

How does he make the checker board pattern 10 x 10 cm? When he goes to tiling its set to 1. Is the only way to get the tiling to work with the TIling U and TIling V? Because in the video it looks like it tiles based on the checker pattern? This has me confused. :( 

I have attached a simple scene for testing. I thought based on the video that the blue cirlce I've made should become a pattern with 5 circles along the U and V rather than just one large circle.

Thanks for the reply. At this stage I guess I'm trying to figure out how it works.

So if I model something at 10cm, how do I make it a pattern at 10cm. I can't figure out the UV side of things. How do I scale the UV map so its exactly 10cm also?

Hi. I'm trying to work out how to use Corona pattern.

I've made an object that I want to become a pattern. How do I make it so that its scale is the same as the model I've created?

I see on the video tutorial that the UV is a specific size the same as the object (10cm). How do you scale the UV map so its a specific size?

I would have thought by default the most intuitive way this would work is create an object and apply it to the pattern and it comes in at the same scale as it was modelled.

I'm creating square floor tiles. Is pattern the best way to do this or is Mograph or Chaos scatter better for this?

I work on a range of projects from arch viz to product and now getting into motion graphics. I've only done interior and product with Octane so far and my test scene was with lots of grass, as I wanted to compare speed of the two engines. Octane has sites like max tree and Quixel amongst others where you can get assets for Arch viz.

A 4090 would be great I think but a bit pricey for me... Maybe they have a sale on Black Friday. :)

The best thing to do is to get a demo of Octane and test your projects on it so you can compare.

I have been using Corona for a few years now and also been trying Octane out this last year for a few projects. I must say both engines are great but after using Octane and then switching back to Corona I find myself getting a bit frustrated with the speed of Corona for both IPR and final render compared to Octane. Maybe I do something wrong or maybe my projects are more suited to Octane. I'm now doing a basic test scene and seems to be alot faster on Octane.

I'm using a pc with a 3960X threadripper and a 2080 super. So I can easily get a massive speed boost by updating my GPU to something like a 3090 also.
