[Max] I need help! / Slow rendering and problematic file
« on: 2018-03-29, 16:39:13 »
Hi,

I hope someone helps me because I am searching 4 days now how to solve this.
I have a complex scene, a house with a lot of vegetation and lights. The scene was rendering fast enough ( 2.5K- 1.5 hours at a dell T7600 2x2687w 128BG).

At the process of  the file, after adding decoration stuff etc, the scene was taking a lot to open and was stacking to transform vertices when I tried to render.
So I collapsed all geometry modifiers, I converted bitmaps to coronabimaps, I merged the file to a clean one but nothing changed.
Also I checked permissions and I disabled UAC and antivirus with firewall.
Furthermore I checked the scripts with the timers.
The last thing i tried was to save as archive and send the file to corona support, but the file couldn't be created due to invalid read of textures and proxies.
I am using a Synology NAS for all of my files, Win 10, 3dsmax 2016, Corona latest daily.

The weird part is that after a while the file couldn't open anymore (freezes at loading), so I opened the scene to my backup computer. The file runs smoothly and renders fine for its specs (i7 5930,32BG).
I tried the DR in my backup computer using T7600 as a a slave but it stuck to parsing scene (on the slave only).
Probably I will miss the deadline but this is not the case.
I am wondering if someone has anything else to suggest because my next effort will be to format the workstation.

I am attaching the image that managed to get started rendering at the T7600 it is rendering for 4.30 hours/ 12 passes totally.

Thanks in advance and I am sorry for the long post.

Hi,

Does anyone knows how to exclude a material from a general material override? It is very useful to have it when you test clay renders and you want to exclude only glass or water etc.
I know that you can detach the glasses from the windows for example but i think a material exclude from override is faster.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Tried to recreate GW oil fingerprint material. Next step is to try it to a complex 3d model.
Any comments to improve it are welcome.

A really helpful feature would be to be able to select the linked lights from LightMix.
Something like lightlister has to help us select the linked light fast.

[Max] I need help! / Help with scene settings
« on: 2017-12-12, 09:20:34 »
Hi, I need your help with this scene about choosing the right settings. I checked the indexed posts but I am still not sure what I have to use. The image will be rendered at 3K and at 5k (I don't know if it matters).
If anyone can explain me what settings I have to use and why I would be grateful. It is an exterior scene but with details in objects and materials so I have used PT/UHD here with  32/2 AA/GI ratio.

Thanks in advance!

[Max] I need help! / Question about PBR mode
« on: 2016-10-05, 19:22:55 »
Hi,
I noticed at the 1.5 RC1 material converter, the option to turn on/off the PBR mode. Is any documentation available for this setting? I checked an previous threat about LUT conversion of glossiness map and I dont know if I have to convert or not my material library(etc sigershader CMPP material library). Thank you for your time!

Gallery / Garage loft
« on: 2015-06-22, 15:53:49 »
Hello everyone,
My name is Giorgos, I am new in this forum and new to the Corona render engine. I have posted this project in WIP section to solve some problems I had but due to lack of time I have to leave it as is it and use the info and the tips in a following project.
This is a project designed by Z-architects (z-architects.com) and is a loft for a couple located in a previously garage place.
Hope you like it!

Work in Progress/Tests / First project with Corona render.
« on: 2015-06-10, 02:00:37 »
Hello everyone,
After I spend my trial of corona render mostly on old vray scenes I decided to buy it.
This is the WIP of my first project with Corona render. I can't describe how much time less I spend with this awesome peace of software. Truly a gem in ArchViz, congrats!

The project is about a loft designed in a ex-garage place. The only difficulties I had were archieving a realistic glass material for the facades and the long render times when rendering 4K with Dof (i7 3770). For the first one I found some useful info at the forum but I am not still satisfied.. For the second probably I need a new computer!
Anyway any comments and critics or tips and tricks are more than welcome and they will help me with the rest images of the project.

Thank you for your time!

« on: 2015-05-13, 00:14:57 »
Hi everybody,

Can anyone please help me creating a dirty window material using the thin glass option for faster renderings if it is possible? I have tried blend one clean glass and one with blurred reflections and refractions but i cant get the result i need.
