Hi,
I tested my heavy and huge scene with tons of trees generated by Forest Pack Pro (latest release 4.16)
With FEB23 the scene is rendered. With releases FEB26 to the latest the Building acceleration structure pass hangs. Timers count, impossible to stop the process, I have to kill Max.
Max 2014 sp4
Dual Xeon E5 2660
32GB
Windows 7 Ultimate
Corona daily.

attached some print screens

regards

More tests

you can see how increasing the number of the instances Corona hangs with daily March 13 release.

no problem with February 23 daily build increasing the number of instances.

It looks exactly like a problem I fixed recently. Weird thing is that it works fine here in A6-RC3:

You can try the following:
1) upload me the scene, or
2) make sure you have the latest Corona version. It is possible you updated the 3dsmax plugin (that shows the correct date), but not the core itself. Make sure the Corona_release.dll gets overwritten correctly

ok, so far I was able to reduce memory consumption in your scene by 750 MB. Stay tuned for more.

thank you.

see if you can reduce noise turning on lights.

consider that this scene will be filled with more than 1000 lights (planar emitters + ies)
