Title: Randomize Hue, Saturation and Gain
Post by: Petros Proestos on 2021-07-13, 19:49:50
Hello guys.
I was a 3ds max arnold user for almost three hears, I use now corona.
There is a beautiful shader in arnold -named color jitter- that gives
the ability to put a min and max value into hue, saturation ang gain
on a group of objects, with just one color.
For the moment if for ex. I want to give to a group of objects, a
a series of shades of grey, I have to create some shades of grey
with Corona multimap or with OSL switcher 1ofN color.

thanks.

Hi,

This is already possible with Corona multi map. See attached screenshot.

Thanks Romullus.
Is possible to get notified by email when I have a reply
to my question?
Now I am getting learn corona.

Ok another reqest is:
Is it possible to randomize different shaders?

I mean if I have for ex three different Corona physical materials,
is not possible to randomize them on a group of objects?

In Arnold there was the material layer shader for that.
Now in corona I see the Corona Layered material, but
with no option for randomization...

thx again.

Ah ok I noticed I have to press "notify" in every post I make.
And I just saw an earlier request asking also for material randomization...

Well, technically it's possible to randomize materials through Corona layered material, but it's rather a hack than a viable solution. In other words, there's no easy way to randomize materials in Corona.

aaaa nice.
For ex I was wondering if you have 100 lamps or more,
to show some with emission and some switched off.
But randomly...

For lights you can use Corona light material with multimap plugged into its color slot. If you'll make one slot white and one slot black, then half of your lights will be switched on and half will be switched off.

Try Ky_Color Variator.
