[Max] Bug Reporting / Stop Render

I don't know if this affect other users, but most of times when the Scene Parsing and Geometry is running and you press Stop - it doesn't STOP.

Is the most annoying thing in Corona, that when you press the Cancel button or Stop button, it doesn't stop the render. It has to go until the end of the calculation to stop. So, must of the times we have to wait like 15 minutes or 20 minutes until we can start work. Is this a bug?

I saved the file as OpenExr 32bits Gamma 1.0. Does anyone know why this happens?

Hi,

So basically, my renders are getting stuck.

Elaborating.

Press render, it starts rendering. Hours late I check the render and let's say is at 70 passes and 8.0% noise level.

6 hours later

70 passes and 8.0%.

Another one.

Set the render to last 24 hours.
24 hours later - it says, 17 hours elapsed. Estimated remaining: 20 hours What???

And this is happening in a lot of machines. Which is great news when you have a deadline for Tuesday.

Any solution? We are using Corona 1.5 hotfix 2

Ok, I hope this isn't too complicated.

What I am trying to do is render batch a couple of cameras. That mean I just hit render and it goes trough all the 3 cameras. At the same time I want to save the Bloom and Glare so I can apply and tweak that later. Basically I want to have a clean render and if the client wants or likes I can add the bloom and glare.

I know that I can use the Beauty Pass and tick off the Apply boom and glare. However, the same ins't possible with other passes like Reflection and Refraction.

Is there any way I can save the Reflection and Refraction and other render passes without the bloom/glare?

Hope this makes sense.

Hi guys,

Does Light mix works with xref?

Basically, I have a couple of scenes xref inside a master scene. Using the Light Select, I select the lights inside those Xrefs. Everything is fine, until I save the masters scene and open it again. When I do that all my LightSelect passes show the info that the lights were deleted.

Hi guys,
Basically, I have an exterior scene, with loads of vegetation (it is a aerial view) and I have a camera that goes around the scene. No moving geometry, just the camera. Can I use PT+PT? Will I have any flickering?

Yes, again the same problem.

Sorry to bring again this topic, but "more ram" is not the answer for this issue.

I opened a "old" scene to re-render and what is my surprise that my Rays/s are bellow 150 and after 40min my total rays are 93.

It is a the same machine, the same scene without a single change, no displacement. It is even worse because I am trying to render half the resolution that I rendered 2 months ago.

I am using a build from Sep 22 and the render doesn't move. I went back to the daily build I used, July 23, and the render starts with any problem.

Any suggestion of what the problem might be?

I cannot find the round corners option under the Advanced options. Was it removed from the daily builds? I am using the Sep 22.

Hi guys,

It is just me or since the daily build 27-08-2015 there has been a significantly drop in performance? I mean with the daily build from July 23 my scene would start rendering after 20 seconds of scene parsing and 30 seconds of Geometry and Rays/s total of 700K or even more.

Now since the daily build from 27-08-2015 to 01-09-2015 with the same scene the stats are:

Scene parsing 36 seconds
Geometry: 5 or 7 minutes
Rays/s total: 300

Not to mention that it calculates displacement for around 2 minutes when there is no displacement present at the scene.

Any idea why is this happening?

For now my solution is getting back to the 23-Jul daily build

General CG Discussion / Same HDRI - different outputs

Hi guys,

Something strange happened with my scene and is driving me crazy because I cannot see an explanation for why this is happening.

I have been trying a couple of HDRI with this scene and for some I started to get some strange outputs. Since I work with several versions of the same scene, I managed to get to one that doesn't have this problem. The image I attached helps to explain what is happening.

The image on the right is what I expected from the HDRI. The image on the left uses the same HDRI but the output is clearly different.

Any idea why this happening?

Hi guys,

as the title says I am getting a different output when render the scene using the batch render option. Any reason for this happening? It happens with Corona 1.1 and 1.2

Hi everyone,

I have been away for a couple of weeks and I am now trying to find a good workflow to work with models from Revit. Here is a quick preview. The model is from a default scene from Revit, the goal is just to test if there are any problems.

There any updates for Corona 1.0? And if anyone has some experience with Revit models, let me know if there is any way to solve the beveling problem.

Hi,

I just want to make sure if the license is free for charity organizations, because the person that takes care of licensing complained that you were giving a hard time to give a license.

I just need to know if I understood right when Ondra mentioned that Corona is free for Charity Organizations.

First, I need to mention that I tried this on Mental Ray and it works perfectly.

So, I am working on a scene that is far away from the origin point for the reason that is based on geographic coordinates (so, I cannot move closer to the origin axis). I imported a grass model to use in the terrain, but when I render the geometry looks really weird. Trees and other bigger models don't appear like this.
Any solution for this? I have attached  an image.

First thing is:

When I reduce or add the number of items on the Item count, should the same number of connectors be updated on the node? I mean, if I only have 2 Items, the node still shows the 14 slots.
