Corona V.7
What is the best/ fastest way to rotate a texture inside a material?
The projection shader and corona seem to hate each other…
The C-bitmap shader has a ton of UV controls but no rotation? Why not?
-
Try Transform in a Layer Shader.

Thanks Mike,
this works in a c4d bitmap but not in a corona bitmap.
@ dev team
I assume someone already requested this. No need to request again?
-
No?
-
Preview yes, but try to render.

Blooming glare, well I never!
Should have tried to render it, indeed.
Sorry.
Shows how rarely I use a Corona Bitmap shader actually.

Hey Mike, are you able to send us this test scene as well? Thanks also to jojorender for bringing this to our attention.

Here you are.

Here you are.
Legend! Thx! ;)

I am facing the same problem with layer/transform, was it solved?
-
Hello,
no, this was not solved yet.
Thanks,
Jan

I tried it in Corona 10 and the problems exist here too.
In the meantime, is there a solution to rotate the texture in a Corona bitmap?
If you have hundreds of individual parts, you can't rotate the texture in each one using coordinates.

I have bumped the issue ;)

As a workaround, can you try this with the projector shader to see if this resolves the issue?
-
Or a transform in a layer shader.

Or a transform in a layer shader.
I did try that but it was not working with a Corona bitmap, only a standard C4D bitmap. This is why I was hoping the projector shader might be a replacement for rotation with the Corona bitmap.

Yes, it seems to be working with the C4D bitmap only.
The projector shader should work as well but it still scares me a lot - it was a bit unreliable in the past.
