Title: Normal Mapping still broken in A6 rc6
Post by: Olyandros on 2016-12-17, 03:37:28
I can't understand why you don't solve such an mayor issue. Meanhwile i render blazing fast on my two 1070s in redshift...

Cheers

Hi, I am very sorry for this problem, but I would like to ask you, do you get the desired result when you change "Color profile" in "Texture" slot in "Shader Properties" from "Embedded" to linear? Thank you

Why not add a bump channel, like 3ds Max?

Hi, switching to linear color space seems to help somewhat (I could swear I tried this before). With a layer shader and a (127/127/255) color shader above the normal map image you can controle the normal strenght to a certain extend.
And sorry if I sounded a bit impolite, it was late at night ;-)

switching to linear seems to be not possibile to control the strength of the normal bump....

in your picture seems that the normal it is inverted for working in the right way... it is true???
if found that following your method, we have to invert the normal map to make it working in the right way.... it is true??

I did not invert the normal map, but maybe fliped the x or y axis in the shader.
And i used the c4d image loader, doesn't seem to work with corona's own one.
