Hello everyone,

I'm currently doing a product shot of a glas/acryl container full of pills.

I don't know if it's only me or if Corona is rendering said container like i could see inbetween it's inner and outer wall,
which leads to some kind of border around the whole thing.

The container has thickness, glas material is standard (black diffuse, 1.52 refraction, glossines 1), scene is lit by an HDRI.
Software used: Cinema 4D R16, Corona Alpha v1.2

Thanks alot in advance, I appreciate any help!

Flo

Can't see much on the image you posted but I guess it looks ok. There was a discussion about such stuff:

Thanks for your quick reply!
I did another test render of the whole side, so you can see what i meant with the "border".
In addition i just noticed, that on the neck of the container it looks different.
the walls do have the same thickness everywhere, normals are right.

Again, I don't know if this is all right and I'm just seeing things or if this might be wrong...

It looks kind of strange but it may be misleading. Maybe there is some geometry error? Can you see if it changes after you apply "cap holes" modifier?

I checked my options for the geometry and tried all of them both ways, tried capping it, smoothened the curves and corrected the phong value, but nothing changed...
To clarify, I'm using Cinema 4D so I don't know what a "cap holes" modifier does, that's why i checked for caps -- holes in the geometry are impossible since its generated by a Lathe Nurb.

But good to know that it's not only me who thinks that it's somehow strange looking!

Oh, sorry I didn't notice it's C4D (again). :) I guess this is the correct result.

No problem, thanks for the help nevertheless!

The client had much to say about the render I sent him, but nothing about that glass edge - so I guess it could be correct in the end :-)

I would consider this issue as solved - just rendered the same scene with Alpha v2 for C4D and it looks right.
Only thing I adjusted a little was the glas width but that's all...
