Hi, ive noticed that since the Latest version was released (this didnt happen in A7) the material/map browser window where you select your map type crashes and takes up to ten minutes to load if you have a custom matlib loaded. the preview renders dont appear and any clicking will instantly crash max with a not responding white screen thing.

The max dump is over 2gb so i can send it if needed if there is an upload box?
Thanks
Jack

Hi, which version of Max are you using? Do you have all service packs installed?

Are you using any different materials/maps that Corona/max native? For example vray materials or some plugins like multitexture?

No theyre all standard or corona materials. Ive switched to the old school browser and it doesnt happen. Im pretty sure its something to do with the process of rendering the tiny previews you get in the new browser.

Did you use the process explorer to generate the dump? It can also generate the standard 2MB "mini"dump

Yeah i used process explorer. I wasnt aware of the mini dump. Is that a seperate function or is it created at the same time as the process dump?

"When the error message appears, run the Process Explorer, find "3dsmax.exe" process (it is usually visible after clicking the + icon next to "explorer.exe"), select 3dsmax.exe and go to Process > Create Dump > Create Minidump... then save the file in a desired location and upload it to us using the Corona Uploader."

It does take a long while to do render them but as far as im aware it hasnt caused a crash with the latest release.
Ive since switched to the old school map browser so i havent had any problems fortunately. But I noted that when i had loaded in a mat file containing a multisub that was when it caused the problems most often.

If it doesn't crash anymore, then I am closing this.

Thanks.
