Hello,
I am starting to use Corona, testing it out with some car turntable and the only remaining problem I have is with headlight noise. Any tips regarding this problem? :)

There was recently a fix you might be interested in: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,6117.0.html - it should be much better in the next release.

That's looking pretty awesome, when will I be able to download it? I didn't mention that I am using the latest release of Alpha7. Thanks in advance!

I would suggest turning down GI/AA balance to 16 or lower to focus more on AA samples and setting pass instead of time limit to have more regular outcome.

Maru, it's my "noise pattern" problem. Only v1.0 can solve that problem =)

Nope, that won't fix it at all. The main problem here is not moving noise, but rather too much noise in general.

Is there any reason your metal material has diffuse color?

What about the glass material, did you enable caustics?

What do you use to light your scene?

What about that emitter in the headlight? Is that CoronaLightMTL or CoronaMTL with emission?

How many passes is that?

And jesus...  why do you have enabled all of the overrides?

Is there a bump map on the headlight metal?

And jesus... why do you have enabled all the environment overrides?

To light this scene I am using a HDR in environment slot and two IES lights for headlights (which are in front and away from headlight geometry). For emitter inside of a headlight I used CoronaLightMtl, and regarding metal material I always like to put subtle falloff inside color slot and there is no bump for metal. And regarding environment slots I was just trying all combinations!

Okay:

1, Swap CoronaLightMTL for CoronaMTL with emission. Remember to disable diffuse on your emissive material first (set diffuse level to 0)

2, Disable caustics on your glass material. That (slow) note is there for a reason, and something as headlight cover would not produce any visible caustics anyway

3, Disable all those environment overrides. It's pointless since you have same map in all of them. Just keep the map in the main environment slot

4, After all above done, make a test render, then try to remove those IES lights, render again and compare speed. IES lights in A7 are badly optimized, so they may cause some strong noise.

Nothing really helped, I even simplified the geometry. Maybe some new tips?

More passes. Just letting it render longer :)

In my opinion is noise patter bug in A7. Unfortunately, you have to wait.
