Hi everyone,

Nate showed in his last YT video how to scatter objects on gaps with the new tile shader. Unfortunately I can't get it to work. Attached you can find the demo scene. Help is very welcome.

Thanks!

Hi there,
Could you please try changing the Space mode for the Tile shader to UVW?
Are you loading the Tile shader in the Distribution section for the Surface Scattering tab?
I hope this helps.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards.

This actually works with uvw, Thank you. But shouldn't it also work in the other modes? Otherwise you hardly have any influence on the tile size and the size of the joint.

Nates example seems to use object mode as you can see in the attached screenshot or at 30:27 in the video...

Howdy!

You are absolutely right and are not mistaken but at the moment it is indeed not supported unfortunately. Thank you for catching it!
We'll put a pinned comment on the video and we already had internal discussions about improving the behavior - along with the Corona Bitmap support for Per Tile mode. From my understanding these are not trivial updates but the devs will know more.

In the meantime UVW space is the way to go. Don't forget to set the projection method in your material tag to UVW space as well if you're trying to match the tile mapping you see with the distribution you'll get.

Hope it helps and thank you again!
