I want to build a windows render PC,
and wonder if it is possible to use a motherboard with multi cpu.
Can Corona access multiple CPUs?
Does the render slave need the same amount of memory as the main PC?
Is there a better solution than a Render PC? Do you know a good provider for render stations?

Thx a lot :)

Super quick answers here. I'm sure you'll get better info from others soon....

Yes.

No, but ideally it has the same amount or more.

Yes, of course, it wouldn't make sense for a renderer not to support them. You can check out the Corona Benchmark results for various multi-CPU systems here:

No, you can use whatever system you wish for the workstations and the render nodes. It is common for the render nodes to be more powerful computers with more RAM than the workstation machines because you mostly care about their rendering performance.

I am not sure what exactly you mean by a "Render PC". You can use any machine for rendering. You can even build one yourself. :)

You can also use Render Farm services for rendering. But that is just for speeding up the process or animation (many many frames).
Still, you will need a decent machine to create the scenes on, render, assign materials etc. For this, Corona's "favorite" hardware is as-fast-as-possible CPU and as-much-and-fast-as-possible RAM.
If you will be using Corona mostly, make sure you focus the budget on these first, then for the rest.
