Howdy,

There appears to be a bug with the interaction between the mirrored tiling mode and the view image preview in Corona bitmap.

I am using 3dsmax 2022, and using the latest daily build, but pretty sure it's present in the latest full release too.

When you change tiling mode to mirrored and then click on the view image button it tiles the image in the image preview window. This does not happen in 3ds max bitmap, and shouldn't in Corona bitmap because functionally if you use the crop feature while in mirrored mode, it interprets the crop as if it isn't mirrored.

Hi and thanks for bringing this to our attention, so just to clarify, the problem is that viewing the crop/placement image for Bitmap and CBitmap differs, correct?

I believe that regular bitmap simply doesn't update the view image outcome of mirrored tiling in the viewer while Cbitmap does, but the result in the SME thumbnail updates accordingly, I am not sure if this is a bug. Can you please explain why this is a problem?

yep the issue has nothing to do with the thumbnail. It is purely with the view image preview in the crop/place section of CoronaBitmap.

When you turn on mirrored tiling and click the view image button, it shows the mirrored map. This should not happen, it should show the original map without the mirrored transform.

This is especially true since when using the crop feature, functionally it acts as if the map is not mirrored even though it is shown that it is.

This is illustrated in my attachments, in the viewport you can see that the square is all black, since it is cropping the top left corner of the original map.

It is a problem because it is impossible to try and crop an original map that you cant see.

Here is the original map i've been using in these examples for reference

I also found another issue related to mirrored tiling in coronabitmap.

It looks like the shaded preview in the viewport is being mirrored twice.

I've noticed that as well, it's possibly related to the initial issue. Regardless, I am reporting it and it should be addressed, please stay posted.
