Hello

Do any of you know how to use corona material well to create a fabric material that wrinkles like in the reference picture? The difficulty is that the folds should act like a stretched fabric, therefore starting from the corners. Depending on the size of the area / format of the extended sun blinds, the folds would have to adapt. How do you do this?

Best regards
Katharina

In general for advanced "wrinkling" like this, that's not a material issue, that's a simulation issue as it needs to be done in geometry, and using physical simulation. You can use native cloth simulations in your host software, or third party items like Marvelous Designer.

(And if that is not possible and doing it in a material is the only way, best thing is to paint it yourself - can be done in Photoshop. The realism of the result will depend on how well you can paint it, though :) A greyscale should work to act as a bump map).

If high poly (or "real" sculpting) is an option, I'd try the sculpting brushes (knife, pinch, the like ...)

Something similar can be made using cloth dynamics. This is just a quick test but you could change the "material" properties to something more elastic to get that stretched feel.
