When I try to use the distance shader in the displacement slot of the new physical material, C4d crashes when trying to render an IR.

Hello,

could you provide a simple scene illustrating this issue?
'Distance shader in displacement slot of PBR material' does not crash my C4D with IR running.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi,
Here's a more complex scene where it crashes.

Thanks, I can confirm that it does. I'll strip the scene down and try to pinpoint the issue to pass it to the developers.

Hello,

it seems that the issue is having a displacement material inside Base of Layered material AND if there is no other material in other layers, which I have managed to reproduce in a very simple scene.
Thank you for reporting.
In the meantime, refrain from using displaced physical material inside a Layered material or add another layer.

Thanks,
Jan

I removed the textures from the layer shader just so that you'd get a complete file with everything in it.
It also crashed for me when I had textures there.

Edit: ok, you said layer material, not shader. my mistake.
