Hi
Few versions of Corona ago there was possibility to get picture which was rendered by docked to viewport IR to Corona VFB.
It was so - start docked IR, stop docked IR, open Corona VFB and rendered by docked IR picture appears in VFB.
That was good. But nowadays VFB opens blank after docked IR stopped.
Would it be possible to get this feature back in newer versions?
Alternatively, could the picture rendered by docked IR stay in viewport with some notification that IR is actually stopped (which will not be baked to the picture if I decide to save/copy the image)?

You can right-click and select "copy to clipboard" or "copy to max".
Can you explain what is the use case for what you are describing?

Thanks Maru.
Yes, I know about right-click functionality in docked IR window, but
First of all, not always I remember to copy picture from there to the Max VFB before IR is stopped by me or automatically stopped before the merging process.
Second reason - not always I'm going to use rendered picture and do not copy it before I stop the IR, but quite often in some minutes after that I want to see something from the rendered picture, but I can't get it anymore and have  to run IR again.
Third reason is possibility to get already rendered picture in to Corona VFB and use region to update only the part of the picture very quickly. This one especially important for me while I have meeting/online conversation with client and need to get «readable» for client rendered results as quickly as possible.

Hi,

I understand your points but you can use the "Copy" & "Copy to Max" features. Apart from that, you can also use the "History" feature of VFB to store the current render to Corona history. If you need to update a small part of your render then you can Disable the "Clear VFB between renders" option in Render setup> System > Clear VFB between render and you can either use the "Region Render option" to update the selected part of you can also use "Render Selected" Feature of Corona that is in Render Setup > Scene > Render selected.

Using these options you should be able to do what you have stated before.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Avi

I understand your points but (...)

I don't think so :)

you can use the "Copy" & "Copy to Max" features.

See:

not always I remember to copy picture from there to the Max VFB before IR is stopped by me or automatically stopped before the merging process.

Apart from that, you can also use the "History" feature of VFB

How would you use the VFB history feature within a docked IR session then.

render and you can either use the "Region Render option" to update the selected part

(...)

Third reason is possibility to get already rendered picture in to Corona VFB and use region to update only the part of the picture very quickly.

Using these options you should be able to do what you have stated before.

Looks like you completely missed that it's about docked IR?

Alternatively, could the picture rendered by docked IR stay in viewport

Exactly. It's the reason why I never use the docked option. I would love to do so - if I would not had to look at a Corona logo after stopping IR, but at the recent rendered image instead :)

Good Luck

I agree. Docked IR should keep the rendered picture when stopped, just like VFB IR.

Why doesn't it?

+1 and it would be great if the docked image from IR doesn't turn into the Corona logo after you stop it.
