Hi all, i must create a animation over a video that plays in background.
In cinema 4D there is a Background object but it doesn't work with Corona.
How can i do to fix the video background even if i move the camera?
Let me know pls!

"Within a week" (as soon as possible, but that would be the longest)

Hi all! I tried out Corona 5 to use a video as background but nothing happens. Can you tell me how use it? What kind of material, projection, what kind of video is supported... etc...

Would need more information - scene set up, are you using the C4D Background object? Material set up, how are you loading the video, what material is the video connected to, what channel is it connected to, is that material applied to the Background object. What is the video format. And so on.

Works here, using the native Bitmap loader to load an mp4 (the Corona Bitmap doesn't load video), as seen in this example (using the New Features video, as it happens ;) )

It seems to work for me too. The only thing that doesn't work correctly is IR - the video is not updated when you change the animation frame. But final render works fine.

The only way to see it play in the viewport when scrubbing the timeline is to create a standard C4D material, open the material go to "editor" and enable "animate preview". Once applied to the background object you will see it play in the viewport.

if i use a standard C4D material i can see the video in the viewport but if i render it i see only a shade. I loaded a .mp4 video in the diffuse channel and assigned it to a cinema4d Background object.

Should use Self Illumination, not Diffuse (if you use Diffuse, it will be lit by scene lighting)

Try with a Corona Material though, like in my set up a few posts ago. Always best to go straight to the Corona materials unless there is some compelling reason not to :)

That said, a Standard Material works fine for me here too. Best bet would be to upload the scene, see https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000033461-how-to-report-issues-c4d for the private uploader link! TY!
