Hi,

Trying branding on bottle with displacement but....
- if I place after bottle material shows black and no displacement.
- if I pace before bottle material.... it goes all over the bottle in white and bottle material gone

Any suggestion...?

Thanks.

use the layer shader (not material) to mix both your displacements in one material.

Earlier I dont think it was with layer shader.

I tried C4D layer shader.
If the tiling is off... color comes only in displacement area and at tiling on... it shows all over the bottle.

can you please drop a sample file.

thanks.

p.s.
any help desk notes or tutorials...?

There is a problem with displacement and material stacking in corona at the minute.
But in your case could you not solve the tiling problem by using Set Selection to make a poly selection of the area where you want to apply the label - then only apply the displaced material to that part?

Any hope to fix this problem in coming beta....?

it shows black selected area patch.
when applying, displacement take diffuse colors which is disables and shows black. It should only do displacement if any other channel is disabled.

@beanzvision .... any luck...?

One way to do it would be:

- Create your bottle
- Create your text (branding) as a texture map
- Create your Corona bottle material (diffuse, reflection etc.), finally assign your branding label to the displacement channel. Don't assign the texture to the model yet!
- Create a C4D(!) material and assign your text (the branding texture) to the Color channel. Nothing else is needed.
- Assign this material to the bottle
- Select any projection you like and adjust your C4D texture. It only serves as a guide for the next steps. Don't forget to switch off tiling.
- Now assign your Corona material to the model. Do not render, it would look wrong ;)
- Go to the Displacement channel in the Corona material and select "Effects / Projector" from the shader menu. A projector will be created, it automatically contains the previously assigned branding texture map.
- Now go into the projector shader. Before you do anything else, click on the still assigned C4D material (it should be left of your Corona material), just to select it. Now, in the projector shader, click on "Paste Tag" (it's the bottom most button there).
- Now remove the C4D material, you can drag it on a Null or delete it, I would keep it for later adjustments.
- Render and be happy.

Hope this helps.
It works if you really follow all steps.

Cu
Michael

PS
Please excuse the crappy result in the example file, a bitmap will work fine, the spline shader never gave great results with Corona and still contains a bug or two.

Happy to hear, you are welcome!
It's not the easiest and most convenient method, but until displacement, stacking and additive materials really work in Corona as they do in C4D natively, we have to live with some workarounds.

I ended up going the selection tag option in the end.

PM sent.

Thanks for your effort. Yes... this option also works.

I hope displacement staking will be fixed soom in coming beta.

It's really not that hard using the layer shader. Also, you have tons of options to mix maps.
