Aside from lowering the GIvsAA is there any other way to deal with AA in high contrast areas?
It's most noticeable on the chrome legs here.

It's not GI vs AA problem... it doesnt' sole such situation. It's clamping.
Try to change hightlight camping from 0 (default) to.. I don't know, 5.
If it solve the problem, try 4, than 3, than 2. With 1.0 you will solve 100% this problem. But you will lose a lot of data.

Hmm, from what I can see highlight compression doesn't make any difference to the AA on those spots, it only reduces the brightness.

It is from the Max helpdesk, but the same with Corona for C4D.

Btw, there is highlight compression (in the VFB) and highlight clamping (in the prefs) which are not the same.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't know there was a clamping option in the settings.
I was looking for something like that under Performance settings, kind of odd that it's under the FB settings in my opinion. We really need "show help" for corona settings :D.

You are welcome :)

Until there is more, try this one:

For Max, too, but it's pretty much the same for C4D.
