Is it possible to stop the IR from updating if there is no change to settings that will affect a render in a scene? Example, with IR is running and I re-name something in the hierarchy or rearrange the positioning of something in the hierarchy etc. Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben,

this would be tricky, because from the high-level point-of-view, C4D does not make a distinction between e.g. changing the object's name and changing its position. Without remembering the object's previous state, we cannot tell what changed and we have to assume the worst. To remember full state of all objects, we'd have to keep track of even more stuff, which would blow up the memory requirements of IR. So I'm afraid I have to say no to this one. I'll double-check, whether we can detect the name change, though.

Hi houska,

No problem at all. I thought it might be a tricky situation. ;)
