I have some lights set up with a lightmtl and in lightmix they affect the geometry fine but the shadowcatcher doesnt change at all no matter how high i increase the value.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi. Both Corona-Lights and Corona-LightMtl need to have the "Shadowcatcher illuminator" checkbox activated to illuminate a shadowcather.

Hope it helps

Does it not work at all, or not work only with lightmixer?
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Only with lightmixer. If i boost the intensity in the material it works fine in the beauty pass but as soon as i check or uncheck the light in lightmix panel it switches to the lightmix pass and returns to not working. Happy to send the file to devs if you cant replicate on your end.

That would be the situation listed on the helpdesk as a current limitation with LightMix and the Shadowcatcher?

Thats correct, when you say a limitation. Is that a feature that cannot be implemented because of some kind of restriction or something that is still on the to-do list?

Can you show an example of what you are getting right now, and explain what you would like to get?
There are some other reports about the shadowcatcher, especially when it's reflective.

@Maru - Try a very simple scene yourself, and I think it's quite clear what would be expected.....

Ive attached an image. The first pic is the standard beauty pass. Then when i adjust it in lightmix (increased light to demonstrate) and finally how it should be, achieved by applying the lightmix settings to the scene (different LM setting to middle image)

Sorry, I did not read the thread carefully. Yes, this is the known shadowcatcher+lightmix limitation.
I think the main reason is that the shadowcatcher does not follow the same rules as other materials when using the lightmix,

Is it something that might work in the future?
