I think it would be little bit of a shame to use Indigo's. But Maru's recent one looks quite good :)

Well, I tried to do one too... it's a solid/nurbs(body object in max)...

I added my converted .obj and also .stp so that you can import and adjust the desired quality and convert again....

However, this way might not be optimal, so take it just as an idea. :)

I like that!
You can see the inside :)
I think the texture area is a bit to smal , and the logo might be to big? I will try to contribute myself:)

I guess getting an impresion on how the shader looks on different surfaces/shapes with different lightning is important?

What is the most important/practical features in this thing, do we have a list?:D

I would not re-invent wheel for the sake of originality, model and lightning has already been done best by Bertrand.
I understand each renderer features the logo heavily but it's everything but practical..

Here's BBB3Viz scene (free) which features color contrast, strong and weak shadows and sharp HDRi reflections. Can't beat this.

I agree with this, :) could maybe use a modifier on it :p  do we need the logo on the model?

This is my shader test model, which I created a couple of month ago.
I`m working with mental ray for a long time and that`s why at first it was created with mr logo

Can the stainless steel here be downloaded from the CML-pages?
