Check if the RailClone object or any objects linked to it are causing the dependency loop. If this is the case, try creating a copy of the RailClone object and use the copy as the distance object but as you mentioned creating a copy of the spline, but if the copy is still causing the error, double-check that the copy is entirely independent and not sharing any unexpected linking.

Hey,

I just tried to repro it using the latest version of Forest Pack, Corona 11 HF 1 and 3ds Max 2024.2. It's not happening to me. If the issue persists with you and you are using all the latest version of software then feel free to send us a scene along with some repro steps by starting a ticket here: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Ps: don't forget to include the minidump of the crash.

Hi,

A quick update on this:

1. I have logged the magenta/pink tint on clouds issue as a bug report in our system to be further reviewed by our devs. Meanwhile, there is a workaround to use Color Correct OSL to selectively boost the bluish hue in the sky to get what you want. I am attaching a video showing how to use it. (Internal ID=1292055955)
2. There is a downside of using Color Correct OSL as it is crashing 3ds Max if you will try to color correct during IR. I have logged this as a bug report too in our system, but it should work fine in production rendering. I am aware that this is not the best workaround. (Internal ID=1292066486)
3. Furthermore, I have logged a feature request to provide a way to selectively color correct a hue range using Corona color correct map (Similar to Color Correct OSL). (Internal ID=1292062353)

We will let you know if there are any updates to this.

Hi,

If you ever get any licensing issues. Feel free to send us a ticket for it.

https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Meanwhile, you can goto "system" tab in Corona render setup and click on "Activate" to see if it works for you.

Also, make sure you are using the latest version of Corona which is Corona 11 HF 1 at present time. You can download it from here: www.corona-renderer.com/download.

Hi,

Sorry but I don't understand what you are referring to. You are comparing two different Images. Can you try to render the same Image with Old version of Corona and then with new version of Corona and show us what has really changed?

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed explanation and the repro files. We are still investigating the issue.

Regarding the issue where Corona Sky gets a little darker and shifts color when we enable Corona Clouds, I was able to repro it and have logged it as a bug report in our system.

maybe you can send a ticket to us and we can look into it for you.

[Max] I need help! / Re: 3ds max Viewport Problem
« on: 2024-01-29, 08:00:23 »
Hello,

3ds Max viewport can turn out to be sluggish, especially when dealing with heavy scenes. Here are some suggestions to improve viewport performance:

1. Having a fast CPU, particularly with a higher clock speed, can significantly improve viewport performance.

2. Collapse or XREF objects: Reducing the number of individual objects in the scene can improve performance. https://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-F9CE15BD-FD57-4671-8F3A-8E742B766555

3. Use instances instead of copies: Instances consume less memory compared to copies.

4. Optimize models based on their visibility in the final render. Use simpler models for objects that are farther away.

5. Avoid unnecessary modifiers: Limit the use of Turbosmooth or Meshsmooth modifiers, and keep the "Iterations" value as low as possible in the viewport.

6. Use Corona Proxy to decrease the number of polygons and simplify meshes in the viewport, it helps to manage scenes more efficiently. https://docs.chaos.com/display/CRMAX/Corona+Proxy

7. Avoid using highres texture in viewport. https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-display-texture-maps-in-3ds-Max-2015-viewport-at-higher-resolution.html

8. Consider using Xref scenes to manage and organize complex projects. This can help improve performance in viewport. For more detailed information and additional tips, you can refer to this article: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-optimize-performance-in-very-large-3ds-Max-scenes.html#:~:text=Optimize%20scenes&text=To%20do%20this%2C%20go%20to,(5%20gigabytes%20or%20more.)

Hello,

Thank you for providing detailed information about your issues.

1. The magenta tint in the clouds is likely related to the turbidity value. You can try lowering the turbidity to decrease the amount of magenta in both the sky and clouds. Adjusting this parameter should help.

2. Regarding the slight shift in clouds' pink tint when using Corona Sky with Corona Color Correct, I'm not able to reproduce this issue on my end. In my testing, using Corona Sky with or without Corona Color Correct maintains consistent results. Please ensure that all settings are applied correctly, and if the issue persists, feel free to provide additional details or share specific settings for further investigation.

3. As for the shift in colors when turning on clouds and the overall darkening of the sky, I'll get back to you with more information from the devs.

4. Regarding the banding issue, it appears to be not related to Corona but possibly a 3ds Max-related issue. Try using the native 3ds Max sun and sky and check if the banding is still present. I'm also looking into this, as I've observed similar banding with the native sun and sky in 3ds Max.

If you have any more details or updates, feel free to share them

Can you either share all the steps that you are taking or maybe you can do a screen recording and share with us so we can see what is going wrong?

By any chance, if you cannot share the scene or screen recording here in the forum then feel free to start a ticket with Corona Support: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hi guys,

In the new Corona 12 Daily Build (17 Jan 2024), none of the Denoising realtime options work in full rendering process, in IR is perfectly fine.
Please let me know if is a bug or not.

Thanks,

Dionysios -

Hi, I am not able to repro this on my end using the same build with 3ds Max 2024.2. Can you give us some more info with repro steps so we can try reproducing the same issue on our end?

Hi, can you check if you get any different results using 3ds Max Native sun and Sky and rendering with scanline render? If you are getting any different results in the previous version of Corona or using different sky models, feel free to let me know, and we can investigate it further.

Meanwhile, to remove any banding effect you can follow this article.
