Hello,

we are aware of one NaN issue with "Visible in reflection" in Corona Sky being toggled off and some glossy material being used in the scene. We did not, however, reproduce this in V7 (it began as a regression in V8 daily). Which version of corona are you using?

Thanks,
Jan

Hello,

can you share the scene with us? I would love to have a look into it and see if I can come up with some solution.

Thanks,
Jan

[C4D] I need help! / Re: How to extend / clip Bitmap
« on: 2021-11-23, 15:46:37 »
Hello,

have you tried using the "Crop/Placement" and "Additional mapping" parameters inside Corona Bitmap?
You can set the tiling, position and width/height of the bitmap in there.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi,

yes I can see that it doesn't work in IR and that crashing scene is in fact crashing.

Thanks,
Jan

[C4D] Daily Builds / Re: v8 Daily Build on M1
« on: 2021-11-18, 09:46:34 »
C4D R23 is M1 native too - is there a technical reason that the Corona plugin needs S24+ ? Cheers!

C4D R23 supports M1 from SP1 and up. There is a very limited way to handle this in the current installer, as we don't want to install that for people who are not using SP1, and which could cause instabilities. We may look into this in the future if there is a genuine desire from you, the users, for this to be implemented.

Thanks,
Jan

As mentioned,

C4D processes that support M1 natively start from S24 and up, and that includes plugins.
That means that C4D R20 under Rosetta will mean that Corona will also run under Rosetta and therefore will not be sped up in any way.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Remove Render Region
« on: 2021-11-15, 11:09:40 »
Hi,

I think that if you start IR on current frame before you run the final render and press Remove All, it should remove all render regions from all frames.

Nevertheless, I will report this as I can see this being very annoying.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi,

I think that using an effector is the simplest way to tackle this.

My second idea would be to stack two materials on top of the cloned object and use an opacity channel in the top-most material, for example with distance shader from some invisible objects scattered in your scene.

I am attaching a screenshot of my second idea with a scene file

Thanks,
Jan

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Shadow Catcher material too bright
« on: 2021-11-15, 09:52:58 »
Hi,

can you provide an example scene of this? Have you tried other modes inside Shadowcatcher than the one you're currently using?

Thanks,
Jan

I'm glad that you've got it right in the end.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Re: Layered Material - DISPLACEMENT
« on: 2021-11-12, 09:22:23 »
Hello,

current implementation of layered material is limited in terms of displacement, but we are already working on that. You should have a daily build with new displacement modes for layered material soon.

In the meantime, did you try to stack the materials rather than put them in a layered material, and applied the grayscale map to opacity layer?
(By stacking I mean just dropping multiple materials on an object in succession)

Thanks,
Jan

Hello,

inside the Legacy material, in the Bump tab, there is also a "Strength" parameter. This is, by default, set to 10%. See if changing that helps.

Thanks,

Hello,

we have this logged as a feature request, but other features/tasks have higher priority at the moment.
