Hi... I made this tutorial for lighting the front view of a watch - using Cinema 4D, Corona and HDR Light Studio.
See what you think. The Cinema 4D scene is available free to download too. Enjoy.

[C4D] Feature Requests / Textures on Area Lights
« on: 2021-03-02, 18:23:16 »
Using C4D... I am not able to map a texture (ideally a HDR texture and alpha) to an area light. I know this can be done with an emissive texture, but I would like to also use the directionality feature of an area light. This is possible to do with V-Ray, and works very well.

I am pleased to say that HDR Light Studio has added support for Corona Render in our Cinema 4D Connection. It has been a pleasure testing Corona in this integration. It's so stable and the renderings look beautiful. I made a video to demonstrate this in action. It's a bit on the long side, but I was having too much fun. (Big thanks for Corona developers help with making this happen).

Here is the demo video:

Love this project, nice job. Did you know you can use HDR Light Studio to create and control Corona area lights too in 3ds Max, not just the IBL?
Let me know if you don't know about this feature, I can make a little demo video for you.

Hi guys,

We are really excited to announce the new Area Lights feature is now released for our 3ds Max Connection and it supports Corona.
I love how the Corona interactive view updates - blending between changes.

Here is a brief demo of how our new connection works.

It can save a huge amount of time to get your lighting right.
I hope you like it.

Thank you for the support of the Corona team with licenses etc for us to make this happen.

Happy lighting!
Mark

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Mix material
« on: 2014-03-26, 18:06:28 »
I need to make a car paint style shader - i cant work out how to layer up the materials - the 3ds max blend is not seeming to work. I looked up some car paints on this forum and downloaded the example files but they wont load :-( Any help appreciated
