Interesting, we'll take a look.

Meantime you can copy the tube twice. On one, apply the color and intensity that should emit into the scene, and in Advanced settings in the LightMtl uncheck Visible Directly, in reflections, and in refractions. On the other tube, apply another LightMtl with desired color / intensity to be seen on the tube, and uncheck Emit Light.

Hi TomG
thanks for the explanation, i just noticed that and i am sometimes a bit curious to find out why something is not working that should actually work :)
cheers

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Corona Lister crash c4d 2024.2
« on: 2024-01-08, 18:21:19 »
Hi, I just noticed that when I change the camera on the Corona Lister, C4D crashes. This is simply a new empty scene with two newly created cameras. maybe you can take a look at it

[C4D] I need help! / Re: How do you save your images?
« on: 2024-01-02, 11:37:06 »
I'm definitely no expert in this area but from what I understand, both PSD and EXR's support 16bit multipass images and the difference may just come down to workflow, software or compression choices. Although, EXR is often favored in production environments where flexibility and efficiency in handling complex image data are crucial. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me :)

ok seems to be really a workflow dependent, we also use exr files for animations. but mostly we render still images and here the psd variant is simply a good choice, since we do the post-processing with photoshop.

Hi,

If you're using multipass save yourself the pain of managing many files and use multilayered EXR. 16 bitsfor a bit more room in post ( exposure and banding on subtles shades / nuances) with a lossy compression setting to save quite a lot of space.

You'll need a plugin to properly read the multilayered files in PS :

https://www.exr-io.com or https://www.fnordware.com/ProEXR/

hi i have a basic question, are there any differences when using psd 16bit multipass files versus exr 16bit multipass files?

i don't understand the advantage of using exr instead of directly using psd files (For Photoshop workflow).
i can directly open and save it in ps, have all layers..

maybe someone can clarify for me thanks

Hello guys,

i think i have solved the problem.

The light material and the glass material are tagged on the same polygons, underneath there is a light to control or intensify the light effect.

If i delete the glass / or delete the light material it works, it would have been better to create it with two geometries, but i just delete the glass material because you can't see it anyway.

As the problem only occurred sporadically with the still images, we only ever moved the camera very slightly and the problem was no longer there, but the animation caused it to reappear in around 10 out of 200 frames.

thanks for the quick support, this can be moved from "corona bugs".
greetings
tuami

hello,
we have the problem that from time to time the renderings look like this, that the reflection on the floor is missing and the objects appear strangely reflective or shiny. we then noticed that if we move the camera slightly, the problem will no longer occur. we are currently rendering a small animation of 200 frames and here the problem is again with individual frames that again leads to the error. we would like to know how we can fix the problem without rendering every single frame beforehand to see if the scene is rendered cleanly, which would cause a lot of work and is not the solution to the problem.

we are using corona 11 final with c4d 2024 (we also had the problem with c4d r21 and older corona versions.

thanks
tuami

i think this is an important step to fix this bug as soon as possible, i have seen some threads with this and i think this bug should be given special attention, you don't want to check your scenes for correctness all the time.

thanks Beanz

Free Chevron Floorboards for anyone interested. Created in Midjourney, upscaled to 4K and additional maps created in Shadermap 4. If you use it, feel free to share some examples here :)

thanks!
how do you upscaled it to 4k? Thanks a lot!

[C4D] I need help! / shadow catcher bumb same hdri
« on: 2023-08-18, 12:06:24 »
hello, i would like to give the shadow catcher more realism and i was just wondering if it is possible to use exactly the same (hdr) texture as from the sky object to bumb the shadow catcher. Does anyone here have experience on how to solve this or is it not possible because of the mapping? (sphere mapping or dome mapping and ground is flat). if it's not possible, it would be cool if the shadowcatcher had an option to adjust the projection ... thanks a lot :)

you can use corona decal and mask -> ID -> Instance or Material, the other one did not work for me either
