Hi there,
We're having an issue with our licences at the moment.
We currently have 3 active products, all of them being "Corona Premium Annual" - the problem we have is that only two of us can be signed in at a time because as soon as the third does, it either prevents them from signing in (gives us the error message that all users are signed in) or kicks one of us out. I've attached an image of our Active Products as well as the licences - notice that it also only says that there are 2, when there should be 3.

What seems to be the problem here?

[Max] I need help! / Phoenix 5 Candle Sim Issue

Hi everyone,

We seem to be running into an issue here with all of our candle simulations in Phoenix 5 using Corona. We're are simply trying to add a candle simulation to our scene but whenever we render it, either the flame gets cut off or it is being stretched. We've tried increasing the adaptive grid and adjusting a few other values but whatever we do, it still remains distorted - even with default values using the "setup a candle sim for the selected object" option.

I've attached a link to some images that shows what I mean - you can see that in the viewport the candle appears normal but when you render it, the flame is extremely stretched:

[Max] I need help! / Geometry smoothing issues

Hi everyone,

I'm having what appears to be smoothing issues with my geometry but I don't know how to solve it - not come across this before. Some sort of strange shading/artifacts when I smooth it - the rest of the model shows no problems but this little area seems to cause problems. I've attached an image for reference.

No flipped normals and vertices have been welded. I've tried quite a few smoothing methods to fix it but nothing seems to work.

I've also applied a default material to the model to ensure it didnt stem from the material.

I would really appreciate anyone who might know a solution!

Hi everyone,

Wondering if any of you might be able to help me.
I'm trying to achieve the attached material, procedurally if possible but I'm not having much luck.
Does anyone know of any way of creating such a material - it sort of contains wispy stripes (dark blue and dark orange) with transparency in-between.

Hardware / Laptop Suggestions

Hey guys,

I just would like to get some thoughts on any laptops you think might be a good choice for rendering on the go, or if anyone has any great experiences with any (Good temp levels, low noise etc)
I have a dedicated system at home with 128GB of RAM and a CPU capable of almost anything but I'd like a machine to use on the go - It doesn't need to handle any big jobs, just something... pretty capable I guess. I have my eye on an Alienware M15 R3 at the mo but I thought I'd see what the community has to say.

I would also like to mention that my main programs would be 3DS Max, Corona and Phoenix.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone,

I need to render an image at an extremely high resolution and the best way I've found to do it is just to split the image up into 9 seperate pieces, 10K an image.

Is there a way i can set max up to render each part of my blow-up render one after the other without me having to do the settings each time? That way i can leave it to do its thing over the weekend and I can come back to nine finshed parts.
Is there a script available or just a technique people use to acheive this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey,
Not sure this is a small request but It's something I and a few collegues thought might be useful.
Sometimes when a scene has finished rendering, we often have to load in a corona Config using the "Load" button just below the "RENDER" button - well, sometimes we've accidently hit the "RENDER" button and either lost the image or lost the ability to change the bloom and glare parametres.

Would it be possible to have a promt appear that asks "Are you sure you want to render?"

I'm aware that this isn't a must feature nor a particuarly interesting one, but it sure would help aid the lack of hand to eye cordination we experience sometimes:P

Just got this message -
Error encountered during denoising.
Unknown error (Details: Function "_rtCommandListExecute" caught exception: Failed to launch DLDenoiser post-processing stage. DLDenoiser run method failed with error -29.)   

Scene is just a sphere with a HDRI .

I've seen this asked elsewhere but the solutions given where years old and are not working for me.

I'm trying to render a scene I received from a client but if I try to render it an error pops up saying:

"Scene bounding box is too large, some shading artifacts may occur.
Scene bounding box is (minX minY minZ maxX maxY maxZ): -3.33334e+22 -3.33334e+22 -3.33334e+22 3.33334e+22 3.33334e+22 3.33334e+22"

I've never run into this problem before. I've tried save selecting the entire scene and opening a fresh file, importing but the same thing happens.

Strange stuff happens too. It's as if the scene gets frozen when you render it and acts really strange with the Light Mix. The environment pass seems Ok, but everything else becomes extremely buggy.

Anyone know what the issue might be - I've tried the Unit setups solution but no luck.

[Max] I need help! / Hair and Fur Map Issues

Hi,

I've tried following the tutorial corona provides on youtube on this matter, but I don't end up with the same results. (HF_Test_05).
In the video it simply shows him apply the material to the hair and fur.

I'm trying to get the map beneath to show as the fur itself. Where do I put the map to generate it onto the fur?
I've tried putting the map into the shader slot, but all that seems to do is apply a green diffuse colour (HF_Test_02)

Also like to mention that I'm having to go up to 100000 counts of hair to cover the entire surface, is this normal or too high?.

The third image shows the map already applied to the rug using just a bitmap image - this is the image I want projected onto the fur material (HF_Test_03)

I've put the map into all the slots in the material parametres and it sort of produces the map, barely. (HF_Test_04)

If anyone could offer any help I'd really appreciate it.
