Hi, C4D r26 with v9 takes sometimes very long to startup, Maxon support has confirmed it was Corona plugin causing the delay when starting the application.

it would be very helpful to add an option to add bloom glare in the pass only (Caustics already has this option). This way when I render into PV via  "Render Marked Takes to PV" command I still can save beauty pass without BloomGlare baked onto it.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / IR crashes every time.

is there something that makes IR crash more often? E.G. the use of Xref objects. I have a complex scene that crashes every time during IR. I was hoping to get some tips before having to upload the whole scene.


what has helped to avoid crashing:

tick off:
Force Path tracing
Enable motion blur,

disable multipass,

moving frame on the timeline from -5 to 0.

Lowering output resolution

I think it was only "force path tracing" though because crashing returned when I had it checked once again.

Is it possible to use team render client in a way that it would use local textures and cgeo assets? I have big archviz scene and I have not managed to set it up in the way that the client would not need to download the whole scene again. In the Team render client there is a tab files/paths in the settings. Setting them up has not done anything. The client still tediously downloads bunch of data from the server it has already on the drive.

Also strangely after the client downloads the job it starts to download it again.

I am not sure if this is a bug. Should rendering 30 passes and clicking twice resume last with 10 passes yield the same results? It does not currently in rc2.

proxies do not render bumps with PBR material.
Also if more material tags with the same material are used, mapping gets mixed up.
I used private uploader for scene upload:

Could you give me a time frame this could be fixed?

there are other materials on other models where bump does indeed render

Due to point 2 working in V7. Points 3, 4 and 6 could by bypassed by batch renaming absolute paths, so don't focus too much energy on that. I would say motion blur is the biggest issue at the moment.

I would like to use a projector tag, so I first use a flat projection to get texture aligned and then hit paste tag on projector shader.

I then switch the mapping of the material to cubic as I only need one texture to be different and the projector shader yield totally different results.

to be honest not once has the projector tag worked 100%, what is the deal with this very very important feature?

Hi at the moment corona motion blur only works on objects who move, rotate through space. However, if there is some vertex level movement (PLA), corona does not apply motion blur to it. Important to blur moving person for example. Are you planning to implement this feature?

my scene crashes way too often during "preparing scene data ..." phase. Does anyone have tips about how to fix this without sharing the scene? It also happens sporadically. I have 128 GB RAM.

I am getting pretty frequent crashing when using caustics pass. A bug report is attached, hopefully, it helps to clarify. The crash is every 2nd render try.


Hello, I would like to create leather material with seams. For this, I would need within one material tag to assign 2 different UV maps. Projector shader, unfortunately, does not allow to designate specific UV tag. I think this would need to be implemented from Cinema, right? I know from the Blender that it allows user to assigned different UV to different textures within one material. This is not currently possible in Cinema as far as I know.

Hi, I need to use corona proxies with a relative path that first navigates up the folder structure and then navigates down the different folders. For that I would use path in form ../../../../ to navigate up. I have noticed that this way works only sometimes. And sometimes proxies are found when moved to different folders.
Do you know what could cause this problem?
