I think blender and unreal/unity is the future. I am 3ds max user but how things goes, sponsoring for blender like Llihmartin mentioned in milions $, the fact that blender is free and the fact that 3ds max need whole core improvement more than chamfer modifier.

anyone know how to globaly change some material attributes like change normal map intensity in all materials in scene ?

Something like VMC (Vray material changer) script but with corona

I also have problem select camera and also long lag displaying camera in command panel. In my case in material editor is the same lag. With standard material and camera is no poblem.

thanks for the reply. Do you have any other tricks and tips? I´ve been looking for some tutorials or workflows, but could find anything specific for Corona to HTC, or in general for video 360° for VR. I guess a lot of it is the same common sense as still with images, but wanted to make sure I´m not missing some details.

It is not specific Corona to HTC. It is in general 360 video on HTC Vive. What I know H265 is good codec in quality and file size but there is also AV1. Virtual Desktop app in HTC Vive support h265, not sure about AV1 all you need to know in what app video will be playing and the check support (youtube app, virtual desktop or other). There is a lot on google when you search for it.
Or ask client which format he need and what resolution.

You need to know in which app will be animation runing in Vive and what formats are supported. Probably mp4 (h265) will be good and 4k quality.

I never had success in light/texture baking with Corona and also in other topic you will find that Corona is not for baking.

Hello all,

what is the best solution to storage models/textures for work, what is your workflow ?

Now I have some HDD in my workstation but need more storage and thinking about NAS (like Synology DiskStation DS418).

I have some question:

1) Does it have any impact on speed if I want to use NAS as texture storage comparing to my workstation hdd ?

2) How some studios deal with models and textures ? Probably they have some NAS or some Servers ?

3) If studio buy some texture pack and someone from team need some texture, is it better copy texture to project(if projects are on main C with ssd) or just link it to hdd on server where is it ?

With unity app there is no problem, u can use their logo on app, their logo on loading screen or whatever you want. Also theviewer is offline nad created in unity.

TheViewer is fast solution when client will pay for it :)

We had this situation while ago and yes there is support for Oculus Rift (some post from 2015?) but can't make it working. Also the key is quality and I had to say theViewer have really good quality-maybe best. We was able to get this quality only with unity app. Hope we are talking about stereoscopic 360 :), only with stereoscopic you can get full immersive experience.

And for client is still better navigate through icon on his mobile than from some browser or link.

I tried search again for krpano and gearvr solution but can't find something usefull.

Hi, theViewer is vr ready for GearVR and other headsets, krpano have no option for something like that.

If you have time use unity plugin, around 200€ and it is yours and can do whatever you want, forever with unlimited app. With no time go for theviewer, for me is also too expensive.

When you open cxr file, up in menu there is Merge where you can load other elements ? Did you tried ?

Thanks maru but definitely hair and fur is not working so good like in 1.6, it is broken in 1.7. If i need carpet with nice texture on it with little transluency I cant get it to work. Maybe I am too stupid to set it up or maybe corona could admit a bug.

I mean texture mapping, in 1.6 it was working but in 1.7 not. If base mesh have texture, H&F is white also how to setup transluency when material is not applied ? (Yes you can use Root and Tip color(texture) but it is not the same )

Is this fix also related to materials problem with hair and fur or only working od DR ?
