1) build in node-base material editor
+1

thanks again for checking the scene and obviously for all the tips!
For that rendering you posted, did you only fix the phong tags, and texture mappings, or did you also swap/modify some textures completely?

Seems like I definitely have to pay more attention to those little tags! :-)

No problems, I've decreased most phong tags, replaced textures that were not included only (library ones). All in all, sun+sky (with hdri or not) will give better results in shorter times. Hdri only setup is great for mood in light, but not working that well yet.

Cheers

First of all, C4d corona with hdri light only is slow and noisy especially in small window rooms. Sun+sky model is much efficient and less noisy at current alpha stage. Your phong tags are fu**d up all over the scene, I know in vray it causes to render much longer, but in corona cannot confirm for archviz. Used some first textures I found for render. Ive run 19 pases to check, it would be smooth in 2h probably on my machine, but not necessarily noise free.
I can run longer render later in the evening when I'm done with my work to see how it goes.
Cheers

I've done 2K passes in 7h in scene full of glass and few lights 3K res. In that time you should have like 10K passes for such a scene, these one would render in 20-60 minutes in corona for good quality. What's Phong tag on wardrobe on the left - you can see the angle of specular. Post the scene we can check whats wrong if you want.

Cinema Compositing Tag is the only solution atm, building model when you hide certain walls and camera obstacles is also a hint. Other than that we need to wait for the final realease, had the same problem earlier too.

For grass/fur I use Vray Fastfur, Cinemas Hair seems work too to some extend. Only limits come from corona mats atm for me. I dont use previews just run 2-4 passes in Corona, but scenes get complicated very fast for me usualy when I need to render anything and too heavy so C4d might become unstable sometimes or it is Ram isuue, never figured it out.

Well, for me it took like 9 seconds to see anything in native scene setup, but I own C4D Prime only and lack the plugins you used in scene, and you haven't mentioned your comp setup too. You can see 100 pases I run for the scene without problems, and 10 passes in HD format. Besides you could lower bump in materials, in that stage of corona its 0.02 more than 0.2. And the fabric, why is it luminous?

eh... this is some kind of joke right?
Nope, its Adam's answer for my question about official release and bug removal in c4d version..in the near future. I'm fully aware of lacking features, so far imho at alpha stage it works better than anyone could expect. It is said also that not earlier than next year we nor can see some major updates for c4d neither official release date.

Corona in 3Ds Max is pretty well working right now - as the C4D version will do one day... ;)
Indeed. Besides the official reales date is not confirmed yet.

Quoting Adam ...C4d Corona is for brave ones now. I'm struggling with uv mapping to selections and not oonly either. For hdrs (-5 exposure) and sun it takes some time to find best values. So far least troubles gives me interior shots, bump is usually like 0.01-0.002 depending on material distance from camera.

Happened to me either, but in very dark space with 5 low lights. Looks same as blotchy GI from vray, occurs in some darker corners. Remember corona for c4d lacks lot of functionality. Default settings in use and all seems working great, I also use progressive mostly, jut cant wait for DR and official release. Nice render btw, I'd love to see more equipment maybe.

cheers
