Hello,
I am having a hard time figuring out why my scenes are taking 7 hours or more to render. render resolution is alright 2960 x 1665. My Laptop's specs are quite alright as well. I have attached screenshots of the laptop specs, and the scene while rendering. I can't attach the original file cause its too large
I just want to understand is this normal, or is there something wrong with my scene. If there is nothing wrong, is there anything I can do to make render time less than it is right now.

You are having rather slow CPU. Take a look at benchmarks. But still it should be faster. You got quite good GPU though, maybe consider trying GPU render alternative. Your graphic card would eat that render in no time.
-
Have you set secondary solver to UHD/4K?
Have you made sure Caustics is not enabled?

That's why I am confused on why its taking quite a while. Do you have any suggestions regarding a gpu-based renderer?

secondary set to UHD, and no caustics is not enabled

Id hather not advertise any specific GPU renderers on this forum but you can just google it. RTX 2070 is as strong at 5 of those CPUs you got combined.

maybe it is because of lightning setup on those hanging lamps.
There is a lot of noise coming from those.

Also, those curtains tend to increase my render times a lot. And those bed-side lamps - try setting the lights to only affect the glass sphere around them - should result in a speed increase with not much notable difference in lighting...
But first try a render without the transparent/translucent curtains

Any out of memory warnings? What are you using as your render limit, passes or noise? What version of Max? Why use Corona 5 when Corona 6 is quicker?

And since this is a laptop, it's good idea to check the temps, to be sure that the CPU isn't throttling.
-
Yes check temperature it may throttling.
Are you using portal? It may speedup.
Glass object may slow rendering and produce noise, it may be better to use rayswitch on lamp glass. Also check window glass and tick thin checkbox. Disabling lightmix also may increase speed a bit.
It is said you have many light source maybe some model have wrong setup. All bought model better to double check material etc. To complicate shader rendering slow, some models from 3dsky for example moderators advice to make complicate shader what is really crazy in some models.
