Title: DR problem
Post by: aurelarchi on 2016-12-05, 13:32:29
Hi to all,

I have some trouble with the D.R.
Some black stripe on the render and a message with the textures missing files (please see the attached picture).
I checked all of this on your help page :

 -   Different gamma settings - make sure all gamma settings are set to correct values on all of your PCs    OK !
-    Rendering from a camera object native to other renderer - it is recommended to use native 3ds Max cameras only   OK !
 -   Using plugins unsupported by Corona - make sure that all plugins you are using are fully supported by Corona    OK !
-    Plugins missing on some of the nodes - make sure that exactly the same set of plugins is installed on all of the PCs    OK !
- Strips may also appear if the nodes cannot reach some assets such as textures or models. Please refer to the following articles:
Missing maps/assets - DrServer is running with elevated UAC rights (as administrator)   Required asset file could not be located   OK !

All my slave have the acces to the nas in Z:/, the link is ok on max.
No troubles with vray DR.

Any ideas ?
Thx !

is this not a case of using asset tracking to resolve path to UNC rather than using a mapped drive?

Usually you don´t need to convert to UNC when drserver is run as a standard user and the drive is currently mapped (I presume both of this), so there seems to be another problem. But it´s for sure worth a try.

Good Luck

I just know all our machines have the NAS mapped to N and I remember getting this problem. It may have been you that helped me and suggested using UNC :) but ever since then it's just part of my process for using DR otherwise I get missing textures.

Glad to read that. It´s only that I at least try to start to accept other peoples DR/BB approach even when I consider it the wrong way ;)

Good Luck

Wow, a French Backburner! :)

How about this line? Maybe something is missing on the faulty slave?

Err ... this is from your OP where you stated that you checked exactly that.

Good Luck
